Has anyone here been to Malaysia? I'm particular about information on the trails there. me, grew up there in Sabah state. There are packages in Mt. Kinabalu for MTBs which includes guides, backup vehicles, food and stay. Or you can opt for Kota Belud village trails...those are all in Sabah. For the KL side, I have no idea. You planning on PinoyMTBiker on Kota Kinabalu? Cheap fares at Airasia till the 19th you just pay the taxes. Lemme know...to give you ahint on the price, its cheaper going there than going to Davao via PAL.

I've been to Penang, Malaysia for business trip my colleague told me that there are good trails in that island. I haven't seen it though. If you are interested I can ask my colleague there and help you out.

Yes I'm going there to bike. Can I just pedal on my own without guides? Probably just follow others? Kuring ako eh...
I plan to pedal up Kota Kinabalu. My wife's connection's boss who is stationed in Malaysia bikes there, I was told... Or somewhere there. He's French by the way- and he bikes with a group. Thing is, I don't think I can rely on him to accompany me everyday. Siguro weekend lang siya puwede.
Airfare is 6k roundtrip, right? You know of a cheaper fare?

climb... yes. bikeable.... errr... no. ;D by foot only pre... but it's an easy trek. the foot of that great mountain is bikeable... layo mo pala stay... but if ever you are planning to ride mount kinabalu trails, you can check out this link: www.sabahtourism.comcan't find the actual agency offering some kinabalu outdoor programs, but will paste it here when i find it... one piece of advice, malaysian tourism is structure compared to ours... so it's heavily managed by the government or some private company... so a permit or a group program is always a must.

Bruce KL ka pala. www.klmtbcarnival.com.my/ (sorry, I cant view this, this has been blocked by our firewall). But if you are in KL try taking the train to Thailand and Singapore (sidetrip)...you can hit 2 countries in that train. Happy Biking.
