Inside SM Theater When the announcer officially announced Manny as the Winner, all Hail YEHEYYYYYYYYYY when Chavit and Pidal appeared on the canvas, all hail BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO then followed by HELLO GARCI...oops HELLO MANNYYYYYY It's good to hear there are still Pinoys who cannot be fooled. We should not allow these politicos to continue stealing our heroes from us (remember SEAG, too). If Chavit and Pidal want publicity, they should go out into the ring themselves and take the punches. But it seems, the athletes themselves are easily fooled. Manny himself has began spewing GMA's usual lines (see Inquirer today). Probable reason: Sports organizers and sportsmen are afraid the gov't will minimize support for their sport. Same with prostitutes who need money to survive. Denying people their rights and liberties, and keeping them "hungry" is part of every dictator's handbook--so they can buy support at a cheaper price.

Win or Loose sana we stick to a Filipino I respect your opinion. However, I believe sometimes there are greater causes than 'supporting a kababayan'... and it can be no less patriotic. Specially if it seeks to ultimately end what is wrong and untruthful in our country. 'Di ba? "...do not lie, cheat, steal nor tolerate those who do."Something many of us tend to forget these days, specially in the ranks of those who used to swear by these words.

Someday, maybe two pinoys will face each other for the champioship, hope this will not cause "watak-watak" of Filipinos. This will happen if no more Mexicans wanted to fight pinoys ( but seems impossible )

Yep, they are there waiting for their turn hehehehe but seems that they lack promotion. Manny and Morales Fight is not a title bout but the price is one of the highest or the highest. Other nation fighters needs more promotion before they reach the level of mexicans and ...pinoy.

Even you spend lots of money promoting the fights if the fighter is no excitement (boring) no body want to see. Most boxing fiascos love the way Pacman fights (excitement) none stop action.

To "let the athletes realize their dreams" is exactly my intention. Actually, mine's let the athletes, artists, teachers, soldiers, policemen, firemen, janitors, etc. etc. live their dreams. But it's not achieved by letting your victories be used by politicians. For every $1-million Manny gets being beaten-up, how much do you think these politicians take from us? And "sinong dehins nagnakaw?" is exactly the kind of question that tells us to stand-up and do something. Not sit around and accept the situation. If they all cheated then none of them deserve Malacanang. There is a wrong notion (being peddled by Bunye and Ermita) that ALL who want GMA out, want Erap back in. Wrong, if they all cheated, then it's a failed election. Even if they manage to make it look "legal" and "constitutional", we all know they cheated. If only you read my previous posts... I bet against Pacquiao not because I hate him but because if he wins, I know he will be used and abused by GMA (true enough, they wasted not a single moment). In my heart, I probably knew he will win... but I feel we must go beyond this and not give the politicians any more weapons to hit us with.

and what has this go to do with Manny's victory again? last time I checked, he won on his own steam, he trained hard for this fight, and he fought with a discipline worthy of an elite athlete. his victory is a worthy victory and I am happy for him on that.
It's also nice for a change that even for just a few couple of hours, the country united in something even if it was just in support of a so-called boxer.
i mean, it's not like I'll support a politician just because he hugged and kissed Manny. We're all smart enough to see through this.

what an unusual way of helping the country... let's put down filipino achievers because they will only be used by the government that we don't want to support. let's bring down the government by bringing down the country with it. don't terrorists who bomb public places in order to sow panic and weaken the image of the government think along similar lines?

Here's the pinoy fighting in the undercard. Jaca was junked this morning by mayor Atienza's men, they did not allow Mr. Jaca for the Presscon though Mayor A is the one who invited him. It is not Mayor A's fault , but his abusing men do. They must know first whom they are kicking. Anyway they apologized to Mr. Jaca later and he joined the parade.

i think i heard it all before...now let me ask again...sinong dehins magnanakaw? sinong dehins sinungaling? i wud appreciate it very much if you cud name names at ng maiboto ko if we cannot answer these simple questions then i believe it's much better for us to just shut up and support each other in any way we can..the athletes, the lespu, teachers, janitors etc...let those darn politicians kill each other..after all at the end of the day tayo tayo rin naman din...let's separate athletes from politicians...manny didnt go there to fight for arroyo or any politicians...he went there for himself..and i would like to think for the filipino people too..SUKLIAN NAMAN NATIN SIR! this is what i believe: its the country's duty...its govenment, its people to support the athletes. i rest my case.

If REALLY have to answer your question: Not counting "white lies", I'd say you Tolits, manny, and maybe half of 80-million Filipinos. But since you have rest your case, I won't add anymore to the thread. Anyway, you seem to have "heard it all before". Anything beyond what I have said is OT na din eh. Let's just agree to disagree. whoopi, I have given my reasons in earlier posts. Ahhh! The 'terrorist card' again (Sec Gonzales' favorite). If you think I hold the same views as terrorists then that's your right. Sabi nga ni Voltaire: "I may not agree with what you say but I will defend your right to say it." I find the passion people have for Pacquiao entertaining. They equate it to patriotism. I bet on Morales, so maybe I'm unpatriotic (?). Maybe "The Pacman" should run for President someday... given our history, he might just win. Palalamigin ko muna before I show up in a PinoyMTBiker gathering. I kind of recall a past news article where nagpatayan ang dalawang magkainuman on a Pacquiao-related argument. Hehehe... I think I should stop now. ;D
