sir, as far as i know, you only need 30 minutes to spool and cool down a regular turbo, none to a ball bearing turbo. so i suggest get the cheapest timer nalang, or go 2nd hand. some go for only 800 pesos.

Go for the HKS.
RB: 30 mins to cool down? That's rather long, isn't it?

Usually 1-5 mins lang to cool down a turbo. You can get surplus timers ranging from 500-1k

I usually just wait 1 or two minutes after driving hard to cool down before I shut the engine off. IMHO there are other upgrades or accessories I would consider 1st before getting a timer which essentially just delays the shut-off.
I also have an Everest but have owned and still own cars which have Turbos. Some of the failures or mishaps were usually caused by something or the other aside from having needed a timer.
One piece of advice: Invest in good quality lubrication! While it is true that you need to cool down the turbo after running it hard, the likely damage as I've experience is caused by oil coking on the shafts. Another thing I've experienced on KKK K's were that the wastegate on one of the turbos were stuck open due to carbon deposits.
Just my two cents... If u really want to accessorize based on having a turbo perhaps the 1st thing u should get is a gauge (best to know the factory specified pressure), 2nd if your playing around with wastegate spring preloadings (mechanical overboost), best to get an external blow-off valve to protect your intake tract and turo from possible damage due to pressure spikes caused by the throttle closing during boost situations.
Better yet! Leave your Everest alone! He he he.

thanks for reviving this somewhat old tread guys fortunately or unfortunately - i still don't have any turbo timers for city driving - i follow the 1 minute idling time before shutting down the engine as advised by fellow eve users although the O&M manual recommends only 30 secs. lately - bike is the priority ;D ;D

He he he! Ako rin. But just in case you want to borrow a book on Turbocharger systems / designs and applications, I have one! Cheers.
OT: For now best for both of us to get a bike rack if you don't have one. Looking to take my bike to Baguio this Holyweek.

Looking to take my bike to Baguio this Holyweek. thanks for the kind offer amplifine fortunately - my truck can still handle/accomodate my 2 bikes at the cargo compartment with the 2 wheels removed for me - it's still the safest and most convenient way of transporting my bikes since it can still be accomodated with no hassle to my passengers so guys - go for the everest ;D ;D
