Sir, That's a good buy. Read some reviews on the net ok naman sya..20k/L aint bad at all. But dont expect to get the same features like the euro versions na merong rear wiper, dual airbags, abs brakes etc...geesh..they even have a 1.1L diesel version. I've pushed a couple of my friends into buying the picanto..matipid kasi sa gas and if your keen on maintainance eh OK narin sya..they dont look like the old KIA prides naman...this one has style and nice color choices din..expect these models to be taxi's soon so if I were you I'll get a really cool color para di ako tawaging taxi......i'll take the yellow KIA phil are coming out with the automatic models soon. Actually some 100 units are at the pier already. I'm updated on this kasi my friend is queing for one. dont get me wrong sir. I'm not from Kia. Pero I've thought of getting a unit as well....introductory price of P320k brand new...(terms P68k downpayment then 9K for 36 months).....20k/L....top HP in its class...nice instrument panel..cute...easy to maintain...at pwede ka palagay ng bike roof rack..hehe goodluck sir!

eto review ng BBC's topgear... www.topgear.com/content/news/cars_coming_soon/30/It's a 1100cc engine:) staind, sorry to say that not all colors are available on the local version. Pero I did saw the color you want The euro versions also has an option of 13,14 or 15 inch mags..while the local version only has stock rims (yung nakita ko)..geesh wala nga power windows dito eh..pero thankfully all are fitted with power steering may cup holder pa..hehe btw- I saw a picanto last night along EDSA and it was going about 100kph..naka plastic pa upuan...hataw!

*cough* *cough* aba! ni LANG ang 320K ;D (warlock goes to Buy & Sell to look for a Corolla with small engine diplacement) Tama ka warlock.....its a choice between a 2nd Jap car or this brand new korean import....mga Echo sell for about 300k, mga pre-altis corolla mga ganun din Pero itong Picanto , fresh ang styling, fun colors and you will get that "NEW CAR SMELL".... which is one of the best reasons to buy brand new diba hehehe ;D Tingin ko Staind's new bike will cost close to the picanto! right Asian Idol? ;D

Mat,
Ang suggest ko...since it's a new product, mag hintay ka ng mga actual users for their review.I would say it's still a Korean made.and japanese cars are still the best, in terms of our usage here in the phil.Don't get me wrong ah I have nothing against Korean cars,
I would say mga 5 to 10 yrs from now magiging ver yreliable na ang korean made cars.
Koreans made some good cars and lots of lemon cars too di ba? So wait ka na lang idol,di naman siguro mauubos yan.
Pero I agree w/ guli, mag Titus ka nalang mas bgay ;D

For 320K, it is a good buy. The car is brand new. Comes with a standard Kia 3 yr / 100,000km warranty accdg to my sources. After 3-5 yrs. it may be worth at least 80-100K. You lose 200K in 3-5 yrs. You cant lose the whole 320K unless it gets totalled or carnapped without insurance. The car is a little cramped though and engine is lacking in power but who needs 200hp in traffic?
A 1.6 car is around 750K. That is more than 2x the price of a Picanto. After 3-5 yrs. it may be worth at least 500K. You lose 250K in 3-5 yrs with the potential to lose 500K more in case it gets totalled or carnapped without insurance. But you get a roomier and more comfy car. Engine is more powerful.
Pros and Cons between the 2:
Maximum loss for the Picanto is 320K while the 1.6 is 750K. The 1.6 is roomier but consumes more fuel. The Picanto is smaller but consumes less fuel which translates to more savings. Reliability would be a little in favor of the 1.6 from Toyota, Honda, Mitsu, Nissan etc. but what the heck, with the Picanto you get a 3 yr / 100,000km warranty if my sources are correct. Resale is pretty much even since the Picanto costs a lot less than a 1.6 car. For the price of a 1.6 car, you could buy 2 Picantos and instantly solve your coding problems.

bikester, tama ka pre. kaya nga pinabibili ko muna mga friends ko para first hand information on their reviews re: korean cars....I take for example Hyndai, sure they make low class models pero they have penetrated the US market quite well..and I surely love their WRC rally car , I hope Kia learns from the past Pride models (flimsy) kasi if the Picanto kicks off right then this would be a good addition to a "people's car"...the price is their market attraction Blackmagic, ouch...

i agree that the Picanto is a very viable option...for the city and short trips out of town. for extended trips, ride may become too long and tiring, and luggage space is limited i imagine. maybe wider tires, and a Thule roof-box would be in order? safety? hmmm, that's the drawback w/ cute cars like this...almost every other vehicle will be a threat then again, compacts like the altis, civic etc don't offer that much protection either ;D mat, why don't you consider going for that Kia, then get a second hand sturdy vehicle like a used, well-maintained pick-up for those out of town trips?

its like for city movement vehicle, A to B ika nga. Not an ideal car for people who likes to go out of town. Mukhang People Hauler lang hehehehe
1100cc? Power to weight ratio! hehehehe
Kita ko sa telebisyon ang laki ng headroom (Do that nasty thing, Yebe!)Mukhang maluwag naman for an average pinoy. Mukhang comfy for 4 person and one doggy.
Korean Cars are known for their transmission bug.
Honda marketing really sucks! heheheehe
Mazda 3 with 1.6 liter at P699,000 daw Mazda rocks!!!! hehehe
But then again
GIANT Bicycle kicks ass!!!!

multicab na lang... tanggalin nyo ang mga upuan sa likod at lagyan ng mga racks... puede pa siguro mga apat na bikes... Talking about KIA, is it durable? The KIA's here aren't that good. Got officemates who got Kia's extended warranty pa but all i heard from them is never buy a KIA.

You guys are hurting me.... I own a Kia Sportage which is now 4 years old. So far its been serving its purpose quite well. Nasira lang naman Kia dahil sa Pride model nila Kasi ginamit na taxi which is not the intended use. These are econo cars, which is for short distance or city driving, with an 1100 cc engine and compact design you should expect na it will not take as much punishment compared with higher dispacement models. Considering the traffic dito sa metro... It's a good option. Its cheap, economical, compact for hassel free parking and the best of all its brand new. Pero, I don't think the Picanto is much of a chick magnet.
