not neo......you'll just have a headache on that machine (no offense to NEO user)........ avoid these brands: neo, asus, HP, compaq, blue, MSI, twinhead..... try choosing anything on these brands: dell, IBM, lenovo, toshiba, Powerbook MACINTOSH......

IMHO you'll get stuck on that laptop for a while its not like a bike where you can upgrade later (not the processor anyway) get a Vista ready laptop ;D
Neo is risky but I would get one if I change my laptop. Dont get a Sony you cant have it fixed here.

what will be the purpose of this laptop? its always better to buy branded laptop for they have better support than those those white box laptops. for the budget you could get a decent specs laptop. check this out: cooltoyzph.com/index.php

I'm using ASUS A6500R with the ff specs: Celeron M 380 Processor (puts my patience to the limit). 15" XGA TFT LCD (great view). Wireless 802.11b/g (very nice). Got it for P39,995.- (P32,995 now, some 4 months later) Combo drive allows me to read DVDs and burn CD-RWs (not DVD-RWs, I suggest you get the one with the DVD writer drive). Free bag (nice). 40GB drive (I bought an external box to hold my 150GB HDD). 256MB ram (I upgraded the ram to 1GB).
Suggest to get a higher spec than the one I'm using now if you have gaming in mind.
My opinion: White Apple-like laptops look nice when new, but are not fit for "hardhat" users like me.
Smaller laptops maybe lighter and easier to carry but at the expense of a smaller LCD.
Cheap brands may give nice specs at very affordable pricing but at the expense of poor design like overheating, difficult to repair, problematic parts. I would stick to known brands if I were you.
Prices are nicely affordable that soon, we might be seeing laptops that match the price of desktops, with the added convenience of portability and space saving benefits!
The price you pay today will be slashed some 20 - 50% in a few months. Not unlike cellphones. So if you're waiting for the prices to stabilize, it might take forever.
Visit Gilmore, SM Sn Lazaro and MOA.
It's always nice to buy from somebody you trust, who gives great service.
Hope this helps!
