dasaint idol! maraming models dude, with the most applicable models differing in memory capacity...depende sa budget mo na lang ;D ...but the two major brands are Garmin and Magellan. The Garmin Etrex Legend I have I thought was a good choice dahil parang sufficient na memory nya at waterproof pati...tapos may bike mount accessory sya. can't really understand why the Magellans are more expensive...tapos di pa waterproof yung equivalent model nila last time i looked about 2 years ago... a really helpful site for info on GPS newbies and experts is yung www.waypoints.ph/very helpful ang mga tao doon...and can talk in layman's speak pag newbie ka

Hi Paul,
Boy Siojo here, we met in Cebu during the Bike for Life trip. You downloaded all my tracks from my Garmin Rino into your laptop. Good to know your in this forum.
Question...on trackmaker how do I capture or save the image of the altitude profile of the selected tracks? Maraming salmat (thank you).
Boy

Hi Boy, Nice to have met you in Cebu! I have yet to use Trackmaker to produce the profile, but I can share with you what I did using Garmin's software called Mapsource world map (you can google this to see the software). I assumed a tracklog I saved when I traveled from Bacolod to Amlan Pier (to cross Tanon strait and reach Cebu Island at the south side) This is via Kabankalan-Mabinay road. This road is like Don Salvador Benedicto until San Carlos, but slightly lower in elevation, but similar environment (you might want to ride this as well!): The tracklog has 1448 points and the starting point was Bacolod until Bais City. The next pictures shows that the software has a profiler (seen with the Yellow arrow, I click it to open the profile of the 1448 points tracklog from Bacolod to Bais City. Finally, the result of the profile. The flat profile should be from Bacolod until Kabankalan, then the uphill portions are between Kabankalan and Bais City. And finally, I'm not sure if this is what you have asked me (capture the profile), but what I did is just generate the profile base on the software's capability and press the "PRNT SCRN" button, then open a microsoft powerpoint and past the screen shot (or CTRL-V). Once you have the screen capture as picture on the powerpoint slide, you just do utilize the "crop" icon to remove unecessary borders that you do not need. After doing the cropping you save it as a jpeg file (and it saves it to a small file as well and the resolution is just ok for providing info purposes). I hope I have answered your question, but I think I have yet to try the profiler in trackmaker (if there is that capability in trackmaker). Lastly, if all else fails, I can have your tracklogs and provide you a screenshot of the profile as well. :-) ;D
