Japan's Murata Manufacturing unveils the "Murataseisaku-kun" bicyle-riding robot driving on a balancing beam during Asia's largest electronics trade show Ceatec. The robot, which measures almost 20 inches in height, can drive at different speeds on its bicycle. tinyurl.com/9hqph

hmmm...pero parang may daya...i was studying the picture very closely...the contraption at the back of the "bikebot" cud be the motor actually powering the bike and making the legs of the bikebot to move creating an illusion that it was pedalling...makes a ton of difference to me.
oh well, its still very gud! :-)
btw, is he/it wearing a helmet? ;D

The mechanics of propulsion is not a big deal. The more interesting thing to me (as a physics/computer eng. nerd) is how it keeps its balance.
