It's been a long time since i've had to choose a new desktop PC for the office staff hehehe...and dehins ko na kabisado ang difference sa dalawa in terms of value for money. dati kasi, if you buy a clone, you don't get original software with it....kailangan ka pang bumili if you want your own CD copy. ganoon pa ba ngayon? tapos, sa branded assured ka sa warranty pero limited ang upgradeability. same-same? and where would you buy a good clone PC? budget? overall including software, less than 40k...kaya ba? daming tanong no? paseensya na, thanks

Clone would be a better choice for less money. You are only buying the name for name brand PCs actually the part were outsource from many PC parts maker Co.

clones are better
easy to maintain easy to upgrade choice of outer shell hehehehehe you can always go by with pirated software(if you dont have issues with piracy)
there are price list/package list being handed out at PC malls (like meagmall) from there usually kasama na software na windows. Or just ask the computer technician to put addtional software. Ususally P300 pataas isang software.

If u only need one unit for basic computing ( ms office & internet ) 4 less money......your best bet is a clone.......but clone nowadays differs coz u get to choose what parts u want to beef-up or skimp on...... more memory and processing power is normal...the cd writer\ dvd writer and extremely fast video card is a very nice upgrade for gaming and video editing....... 5.1 sorround speakers and BT and Lan connectivity....what have u..hehehe......parang MTB rin sa dame ng choices
Chk this Store.......... <rsuncomputers.com> ....... they have good RMA and after sale service...... i bought my AMD barton rig last yr fr taft.......

Clone is better than branded, some pc packages now are of a good price ( kasi madaling magmura ang parts ng mga pc sana sa mga bike din ;D) if it's just for office use a p4 1.5 ghz or amd athlon xp (very cheap than pentiums). You could spend some on original operating softwares (xp,98 s.e., 2000,proffessional) and pirated microsoft office (masyadong mahal pag yung original).
Or if you playing counterstrike 0 or other games ;D there a lot of video cards out there.

thanks guys! so it seems things haven't changed much then w/ price, flexibility and upgradeability being the pluses for clones over branded PCs. have always bought branded...perception lang siguro na mas reliable sila...whether true or not. just getting fed up with them dahil may pagkukulang din yung tech support nila at parang ang mamahal ng replacement or upgrade parts (if any) but yes, i do have an issue w/ fake software, and so does my principal client (Amerikano eh) ...so if 15-20(?) were set aside for the original OS software (and i already have the original office software)...could i get at least the following for about 20-25K?: - p4 chip - 15" color monitor - 20 GB hard disk - 1024 of RAM - CD R/RW - 4 USB ports, serial & parallel ports (IR would be nice) - floppy disk drive - internal modem - mouse - speakers (no need for high-end, pang office lang ) tigacainta, thanks for the store referral! if i can get 1 or 2 more reliable shops (very important yung after-sales service nila kahit mas mahal ng kaunti...and preferably near Ortigas Ctr), i'm ready to go canvassing...thanks ulit!!!

Actually I posted awhile ago the pros about branded PC pero changed my mind and deleted it...hehe Anyway here it goes, I started using branded pc (compaq laptop) then later on after a series of clones bought myself another branded desktop pc from Dell 4 yrs ago..with LCD monitor and the bling. One thing I noticed most was the ease in the operation and availability of the software upon purchase. Since the manufacturer has customized the Windows XP for the units application so there were no crash on the 4 years of use. No conflict or incompatibilities surfaced during installation of hardware I fancied on. Cons: its Expensive Sounds your company is simlar to mine when it comes to piracy thing, better use branded, they always package in softwares plus warranty on parts & services.

about 20-25K?: - p4 chip - 15" color monitor - 20 GB hard disk - 1024 of RAM - CD R/RW - 4 USB ports, serial & parallel ports (IR would be nice) - floppy disk drive - internal modem - mouse - speakers (no need for high-end, pang office lang ) office setup ba to? - 17" monitor cost 800+ from 15". generic wud be ok. - internal modem? if office setup, most motherboard have builtin LAN - 40 Gig na mga harddrive ngayon - P4 chip? hmm, try a future proof chip like AMD Atlon 64 bit. but u need a good fan. ok? - RAM, ok na ang 256, mahal kasi 1024 hope this help. may kakilala ako supplier in binondo.

he he pahabol sir ted i just finished assembling a pc for a friend of mine 2 weeks ago 1.8 AMD athlons ----will give any P4 a run for their money 512 RAM ---- will let you run any program available at the market today plus...... keep you browsing happily 40 GB HD --- the price difference between 20 and 40 gb is only 200 stinkin bucks... so watya think? DVD-CD ROM combo ---- a bit more expensive than just a cdrw but if your office has a lan connection... all of your office units could share with just one... ASUS MB -- tried and tested na sa amin to.... especially if you get the ones with a built in lan adaptor. sound cards are pretty standard on these things 64 mb Gforce 2 video card--- this is optional, you don't have to get a higher type of video card if you don't use graphics heavy programs... or like watching your dvd's on your pc among other things AOC monitor --- it took me 5 years before my trusty monitor finally gave up the ghost ;D and is still probably among the hardiest monitors around oh and i suggest using an optical mouse.. these things are a little more expensive but they can run on any surface.. even upside down and they don't develop what all regular mice eventually develop.... the lazy mouse syndrome ;D we assembled it all for 26 k at PC Gilmore at Gilmore st right beside St. Pauls College.... kaya may added incentive ulit :harhar: good luck sir.. and may the force be with you

yes, OS updates are not that often, but always try to get the latest security updates for our own good. (sigh) you have to pay for security no matter how you approach this. ok, think i'm close to a decision na at this point
