sounds like more competition is needed. if sun becomes a threat and starts to take subscribers from smart and globe, then the big players will have to step up their customer service. the duopoly that smart and globe enjoys will have to be broken. I was happy with my globe service for the short time i was in Phils, but when I returned to the U.S. and tried to get my international roaming activated it was a nightmare... 3 weeks, 4 international phone calls to customer service, then I had to fax my documents twice, before I got the service. We had four major players here in the U.S. and competition keeps them honest. Two of them just merged, hopefully that doesn't mean customer service will disappear. Unfortunately, it takes a negative effect on a company's bottom line before they will listen to their customers. pre, believe it or not something like that happened to me too! happened when i changed my line (can't remember why) but i was in Singapore and my roaming wouldn't work! it took 3-4 long distance calls back to Manila to complain and follow up, but after that week in Singapore..i still didn't have my roaming up anyway, after that incident, everything went pretty smoothly...except that the SMS usage fee charged by the foreign provider is d@mn expensive...like P16/text minimum grrrr... again, love-hate pa rin

Maigi yang may competition, para bumaba na ang rates ng Call at Text, kundi dahil sa Sun namamayagpag pa ang kaganidan ng dalawang yan.

poor smart and globe, conniving with news channels just to bad mouth 'good competition'. i guess they can't handle it, might as well stab the competition from behind. if that's the case then how come a lot of people are using sun's service? ang magandang gawin ng smart and globe is to level out the playing field, that is pumantay sila sa presyo ng sun.

bo, even Globe and Smart had really sub-standard, if not no-service service nung bago pa sila all i can say is that its good for Sun to be around...and given enough time, they will improve and live up to their name...SUN! ;D

Yes, a third player in the market will be good for consumers. Let's hope Sun can overcome their growing pains and become as established as the other two.
A bit OT, but I like what SMC is doing in the Pacific region by purchasing Aussie companies and expanding their market reach. I wonder if they have any expansion plans in the western US... I'd like to work for that company.

24/7 pinoprotesta daw ng smart at globe? Well they suck for doing that! Billion na nga kinita nila sa mga pinoy, ngayon lang nagkaroon ng break ang mga tao sa walang tigil na pagtaas ng presyo. I think they should shut up and magbaba na lang sila ng presyo kung gusto nila mamaintain ang market share! ;D ;D ;D sun subscriber here, with 24/7 u get ur money's worth, kaya yung tropa/ barkada namin nag-sun dahil dyan. bottomline, kahit ano pa reklamo ng iba about signal, u really get more 4 ur money ...
