Thanks for the info, Sup. The trick is building the bike without the wife questioning why I need another one. (OT na ito).
The BMX cranks were attractive to me 'coz I come from a bmx background, and I thought they looked pretty cool, Shimano DX pa! And they come in 180mm lengths which would be ideal for ss. I guess the main concern would be the chainline which is only 44mm.

11k , way to expensive brad!!!, but it looks very nice and unique...why not buy a 2 pc. kona arm 180mm, buy a suitable chain ring for your rig, a KMC chain (good chain for SS), da bomb 9 to one converter and a tensioner....less than the price you mentioned...

JBs - why not use an old crank? if you ask me, the best crank is one that's properly maintained. When I started SSing 2 years ago I was using a second-hand Deore square taper crank (yes, that old!). It's been in all my frames so far (4), and still going strong. Have had no urge to change to Isis, Exo, X-type or what have you... knock on wood

JB - I have a Truvativ FiveD crank that's square taper, 175mm. My brad has a Shimano Deore LX crank (175mm) that he may sell, I'll ask him. So eyeing the Dambala, eh? It's a sweet frame (honestly, no sales talk here!). Hasn't let me down going up and down Roxas trail in Maarat (and everywhere else I've taken it)
