Calling that hideous thing a "Jones H-Bar" is blasphemy!, but i digress. j/k I think most of the H-Bar users are SSer. The 45deg sweep is advantageous on out of the saddle climbs. Climbing around switchbacks is also a lot easier, IMO. I've read somewhere that the Titec hbar won't be available until 2007. Right now, your best bet at the same price range is the On-One Mary bar, which I'd personally prefer than the Titec bar. [edit] Here's a pic of my Monkey with the Jones bar.

go for the Mary! The H-Bar may necessitate the use of a shorter (or longer) stem, due to the positioning of your hands. I'm really happy with Mary, she's a keeper!

Don't know if it's the larger wheels, rigid fork, or longer wheelbase, but I have yet to endo on this bike (knock on wood).

Apologies for my mistake, Sir bxc. So Titec H-Bar is it. Thanks for the tips. I've also read it somewhere that it won't be available until 2007 so I might go for the On-One Mary bar rather than wait for it. Here's a Mary Bar application in Gary Fisher platform. I luv this Bar.

Agu, I keep on looking at your KM with the Mary bar. The fact that I have to wait for the H-Bar until 2007, I think I will take your advice to go for it. One question though ( goes to bxc and slug as well ) coz I've notice that the three of you are running rigid, is it okay to have it on my rig with a front susser? Thanks for your input. Bee go for the Mary! The H-Bar may necessitate the use of a shorter (or longer) stem, due to the positioning of your hands. I'm really happy with Mary, she's a keeper!

with regards to Mary on a front or full suspension rig, it shouldn't be a problem. In fact, it may even help you soak up the bumps more, as your wrists and arms are in a more natural position (elbows and shoulders have more range of motion using the Mary or any extreme sweep bar). H-bar on XC rigs? Of course! There are some pics on MTBR of a rider (Aquaholic) catching major air on his custom Jones - with an H-bar naturally. For the weight-weenies, the Mary weighs in at around 300g. Not a lot. You can always take a dump before the ride to get rid of excess weight hehe It may take a ride or two to get used to the bar, and to tweak angles as well. But once dialed in, it rocks. Bottom line (for me): I will never go back to a straight bar set up
