ave maldea can make them. agu had a chromo fork made based on a 100mm fork length.

that funn fork would be great for trials if your BB is dropping but otherwise you need something shorter. Its not just preference but proper geometry. that ridgid fork simulates BB height of the same frame with a short stroke susp fork

I only got that after reading some articles hehe
BB height affects your bunnyhop, backhop, manual etc. I find +BB up to +20BB height a good compromise.

Hi there. It costs around P1500- and my measurement was suspension corrected for an 80mm fork - so around 410mm-413mm from axle to crown. It had enough clearance for a WTB Motoraptor 2.24, but the fork legs were kinda narrow (but sexy though), and I noticed some flex during braking and hard cornering. You will also have to provide all the necessary measurements (not just axle to crown), but also fork rake, fork trail, and steerer tube length. I suggest you copy the geometry of an aftermarket fork - maybe a Kona P2, Surly 1x1 or Instigator fork. Fooling around with fork geometry can result in poor (or even dangerous) handling. Just my P0.02 worth

Yup, since some of the SS parts are hard to find I'm willing to bring some stuff back on my next visit. A couple of forks and some of the smaller items won't be a problem. My earliest trip possible return will be around of Mar-07. Start thinking of some parts that are not available locally.

sir ask ko lang if what BB height is good for bunny hopping?? I think its the lower BB, -BB especially. Logic: As you tuck the bike it leaves less of the bike bellow you so you get more vertical height. +BB is good for sidehops. Ryan Leech I think have something like near 0BB level. Correct me if im wrong guys. Hey I might passby UP to watch greaseart sometime, but I will have to wait for my new frame dyahe naman hehe

To Bo, King, Agu and all the other SS gurus, Here's the setup of my drivetrain after removing the tensioner: And the small amount of slack available (without using a half link): I've done a couple of training rides on this setup, didn't feel any resistance while pedalling (coz when the chain is tight, medyo mabigat padyakan even on flats, di ba), I just want to know if this is okay or am I putting a lot of stress on my drivetrain parts? And I think the chainstay guards is useless. Thanks in advance (TIA), guys! Bee

Bee Hi Bee Looks fine to me - is that with a brand new chain? It will develop more slack if it's still new, and will settle in eventually. Just make sure to bring a chain tool and spare links. (would be wise to bring these along on ANY ride, actually - even non-SS). Yes, the chainstay guard is useless hehe Bike looks too clean - time to get it dirty!

Hey Bee, you're lucky got that perfect setup...your chain is not too loose nor too tight... you can easily figure out your chain if it's too tight 'cos there is a resistance when you back pedal...and it's loose if you can move the chain away from the chainring with your finger (be careful with your finger when doing that ) hehehe ;D But Agu is right, you need to keep that baby more dirty next time...just like this one

yup, I agree. looks just about right. my setup has the same tension with a new chain. unfortunately, I also have vertical dropouts, once the chain gets elongated just slightly you'll have to replace the chain before it's full life has been used. you'll see that the chain will start to sag as it wears in and soon will be too loose and prone to falling off.
nothing like the efficiency of SS ;D ;D

bee, ok na yan! you're lucky yo be able to get the chain like that without using a tensioner. yup, the chainstay protector is now useless hehe it will be quieter ride then usual without the chain slap.

Thanks for all the response guys! ;D @ Agu, Yes its still a new chain. Thanks for the tip. I do always bring spare links and an almost shop worthy kind of chain tool whenever I ride. Always save me and my buddies a lot of trouble during our rides. The chainstay guard went straight to the bin. Hehehehe, joke lang. Will use it on my Orange SubZero, I'm rebuilding it lighter for my wife's use. Seems to me that she doesn't want the 5.5.
