it was last tuesday, he was riding with friends and it was a really hot weather, so he took off his helmet. tried to bunnyhop up a curb with speed, but his rear wheel hit the curb throwing him into a front flip hitting the stem with his jaw and then falling on tarmac with his head, breaking his neck and skull + he had internal bleeding in his chest, he was in a coma for 3 days, came out of the coma but the same night his heart stopped. when i heard about this i couldn't ride at all. just couldn't. I didn't really know him, just seen him riding, but it's still really really sad.
all of trials riders, street, DH and FR guys in Estonia are riding with black ribbons on our handlebars this week and maybe all of you should do the same, because he went out doing what we all love- riding his bike.
Other post refer to how this was the first and last time he didnt wear a helmet. And yes he was using a full face helmet.
This is the first death I heard from street/trials. RIP to him.
Always remember that you are unique. Just like everybody else.
There's no such thing as an "accident", accidents are made to happen. If he was wearing his helmet in the first place this tragedy would not have happened. Helmets on bros.
Sorry, Voltaire21, but you don't know what you're talking about. Accidents DO happen. You're making it sound like it was his fault the accident happen.
Messing up the bunny hop & hitting his head was the accident. Taking off his helmet was the mistake he made which could have made a difference & prevented his death - the tragedy.
Most likely the rider who just passed away is not a member of PinoyMTBiker, but that doesn't mean we could make it sound like it was his fault because none of his friends or family could read what you just posted.
We wear protective gear for that one time when we don't have any control on what's going to happen. For that one ACCIDENT we never want to happen.
Let's be careful with what we say or post.
My deepest condolences to the family of our fellow rider.
