;D gud day brothers, idols and dudes! hehehe ;D
we are planning to organize and hold a DH race here in our city.
this race will obnly be a fun race for the meantime just for exposure here. then if this race will be successfull, we are going to organize another race, this time national na. for the mean time, if this race will be approved by the city, region riders lang muna yung lalaro kasi for exposure lang muna and dehins pa bobonggahin yung premyo o baka d kasing laki sa mga premyo nyo.hehehe. (trans: regional riders only coz for exposure and the prizes are not that bongazious as most of the races here in our country...) parang patikim lang muna to sa city.... ok ba to? is this ok bros?idols?
and another thing, we have in mind that there will be no categories. hehehe 1 category only. mixed nuts hardtail and fullsuspensions.... at present, we are only more or less than 10 riders here in the city who indulges in the sport, dont know about ormoc, samar, southern leyte.... we are only limted to a tight budget and we are still looking for sponsors...... ok lag ba to na walang category lang muna? and if successful to, the following races will have categories for both HT and FS, Pro, Beg, Novice, and Exec... is this ok? hehehe kulit ko noh? hehehe ;D
another thing, we dont have a decent race track yet. all we have here is a quarrying site in which there are 2 routes. 1 is a speed route where we put jumps and berms and littered with sharo rock gardens and a drop and takes an average of 40-50 seconds only and another route, we named mii redbull, is littered with drops, rock gardens, turns, and jumps and normally take 1 min. to descend. we are planning for each run, we descend on both routes, add the time, and that will be the total time for run 1. and that will be also the same for run2. the best run will be the official rider's time... OK ba to? hehehe
i really dont have a clue on this one... d rin kami magpapahuli sa ano mang sports na sinusoportahan nila d2 like airsoft, badingmenton, badmenton, ms gay, etc...etc... ( we will not be left behind.....coz we are the ones who thrust from the behind....hehehe)
and also, how do we get sponsors? hehehe
please help us on this one... what other technicalities that i forgot? any ideas? suggestions? opinions? need help kasi on this one. maging ok lang to, we are planning to go national.....
also, what equipment do we need on organizing these kind of events? please help us... hehehe this will be the first time i think or the second time that there will be a DH race here in our city... ghow much budget do we need to keep this alive? thanks in advance mga idols... need help... SOS ;D

tacloban city, leyte...... hehehe this sport is just new to us here like 1 year or so.... we dont have experiences yet in orgainizing a race and there's a slight problem here. most of the mtb races being held here are mtb races on road, WTF?!! and we're having a problem because some bike clubs here (mtb bike clubs KUNO pero road naman tinitira, ikot-ikot ng lamang yung mga palaro nila sa boulevard) trans: round and round through the merry go round, discourage us to hold such events becuse they say that no one will sponsor or support this event because D DAW MAKIKITA NG MGA TAO. and we're not yet SEC registered daw. Im thinking that maybe i can use my other club's sec registration (mountaineering club) since it is registered and not limitred only as a mountaineering club but an outdoor club (Nature Unlimited-Leyte Outdoor Club/ NULOC). we pursued this plan because these things happened: 1. a govt employee here who works for the mayor told this other MTB club here to submit a race proposal to them so that they can review it and schedule it MAY next year. a friend of mine who is also into FR told us this and we planned that we might as well submit a proposal. I drafted, made a proposal, not so serious, i was just playing with it. I attached pictures, the nature of the sport and etc..... 2. i geave this proposal kuno to this close friend of mine and since he is close to this govt employee, he directly have this one checked out by the govt employee without letting the vlub know. 3. after a week, we recieved a news that the mtb cub submitted a budget report asking for money and was rejected on the spot because they were asking for tyhe budget already. the govt employee was frustrated on the wrong move and he told us to pursue with our plans and right now, i think were in deep shite already because it looks like we will be comitting and be working on this one and sad to say we are only three of us who meets and talk about this one. the others dont care or too busy to talk about this matter because in my opinion, they're thinking that we might get rejected also or they're just plain lazy to work on this one and wait till this one gets approved. if thats the reason, well i might shove a shovel up in there as*ses. hehehehe i hope this works. i dont know how to organize events like this. all im after is to make this one successful so that there will be more upcoming races here. im thinking also of inviting you guys but im thinking baka sayang lang pamasahe nyo d2 kasi d pa kasing bongga o maliit lang budget namin at ma frustrate lang kayo.... dahan dahan lang muna ... hehehe (trans: slow down. men working ahead) hehehe hope to hear your inputs on this one... hehehe

jackass- we pass that stage before brad, sometimes its really frustrating and it really pissed me off, that goes to gov't officials coz they dont know what are we into, ignorant and close minded stupids, same with the team mates, we are like 7-9 members in our teams but most of the times its only and my nephew roann who works on it, our team mates sometimes join us in track building but 80% of that is they ride the tracks and practice. regarding the gov't officials, i suggest , you do the talking yourself thats what i did before, kapalan lang ng mukha yan and the patience of explaining what you want and what they will get in return, same goes with your prospect sponsors. bring some magazines so they can visualize our game or if they have a pc with internet in their office try to ask them to logged on our websites (PinoyMTBiker or urban-militia.com) just use some sweet talking. try to give at least two months allowance before your target date and talk to your buddies to help you get this working, divide the work load. i already handled some races here, 3 dh, 1 urban freeride and 1 time trials, having a race is not an easy task it really needs patience, time and money. if you lack manpower ask some of your non-riding buddies to help you on the race day and try asking other teams from the nearby towns for help, if they found out that you're gonna have a race they will come for sure, well thats based on my experience. try to make a list of what you want and sponsors you wanted to get then do everything step by step. if you cannot get them to your race tracks to watch, bring the race track to them, like a freeride content in your town plaza, just build some wooden ramps, drops and obstacles ala northshore, for sure people will watch you and show them what a moutain bike rider can do

cool... thanks brad.... that's what i was thinking also....... slight problem here is that during times of preparation like preparing the course, working on the sponsors or paper works, for sure kunti lang kami na tatrabaho. others will make some alibis or will simply pass it to us yung parang, "ah, kaya na nila yun...." and then during the D-day, sigurado ako papapel yung mga yun......eeksena na.hehehe that's what im worrying about also... what i have in mind right now regarding this problem is that, if they will be a pain in the ass in making this project a reality, i might change the regional idea and go national..... sa palagay ko kasi kung regional lang mahihirapan kami nun maka hanap ng sasali kasi here in our place , 4 lang kami na dedicated to the sport. sometimes nga 2 lang kami. minsan kung wala, nagsosolo nalang ako. hehehehe pano kaya pag D-day na? sasali ba yung mga yun? that's what im worrying also baka langawin yung race. hehehe im of 50-50 chances of inviting you guys outside of our region... the problem only is budget and support. hehehehe thanks brad......

;D gud day brothers, idols and dudes! hehehe ;D
we are planning to organize and hold a DH race here in our city. Great! Go for it
this race will obnly be a fun race for the meantime just for exposure here. then if this race will be successfull, we are going to organize another race, this time national na. for the mean time, if this race will be approved by the city, region riders lang muna yung lalaro kasi for exposure lang muna and dehins pa bobonggahin yung premyo o baka d kasing laki sa mga premyo nyo.hehehe. (trans: regional riders only coz for exposure and the prizes are not that bongazious as most of the races here in our country...) parang patikim lang muna to sa city.... ok ba to? is this ok bros?idols?
and another thing, we have in mind that there will be no categories. hehehe 1 category only. mixed nuts hardtail and fullsuspensions.... at present, we are only more or less than 10 riders here in the city who indulges in the sport, dont know about ormoc, samar, southern leyte.... we are only limted to a tight budget and we are still looking for sponsors...... ok lag ba to na walang category lang muna? and if successful to, the following races will have categories for both HT and FS, Pro, Beg, Novice, and Exec... is this ok? hehehe kulit ko noh? hehehe ;D If you plan on inviting neighboring towns, I suggest you create atleast 2 categories. Up to you whether expert & novice or novice & beginners. Try coordinating with your neighbors on this one. You dont have to create separate categories for hardtail and fs but maybe you can give special awards to fastest: hardtail, young rider, women, etc.
If you're not sure kun dadayuhin ba yan ng mga neighbors nyo, better just have a fun run among your group and invite all riders you know to join. Race for bragging rights na lang on whose the fastest in your town. Baka kasi if you get support from local govt then konti lang attendance, mahirapan kayo humingi ng sponsorship later. At least by then you know what you gonna do na.
another thing, we dont have a decent race track yet. all we have here is a quarrying site in which there are 2 routes. OK ba to? hehehe
That's no problem dude. Local racetrack in Taytay when we had a race is also less than a minute and meron pang climbs. But what can we do, yun lang meron dito
i really dont have a clue on this one... d rin kami magpapahuli sa ano mang sports na sinusoportahan nila d2 like airsoft, badingmenton, badmenton, ms gay, etc...etc... ( we will not be left behind.....coz we are the ones who thrust from the behind....hehehe) sagasaan nyo na lang. hehehe. joke only
and also, how do we get sponsors? hehehe first you have to have a group with a name and list of officers. then you just write a formal letter of request to prospective sponsors. ofcourse you have to explain what you plan to do and what the sport is all about. When we prepared our letter of request, we said that it will be attended by riders from all over the country and it is basically to promote health and keep kids away from drugs (something like that)
please help us on this one... what other technicalities that i forgot? any ideas? suggestions? opinions? need help kasi on this one. maging ok lang to, we are planning to go national..... try doing a dry run among yourselves
also, what equipment do we need on organizing these kind of events? please help us... hehehe this will be the first time i think or the second time that there will be a DH race here in our city... ghow much budget do we need to keep this alive? thanks in advance mga idols... need help... SOS ;D you will need a stopwatch and 2-way radio to start with.

cool! thanks...... what im after really is to make this one a national race. where we can invite you guys here. hehehehe we'll do this step by step lang muna, starting from smaller things before going to bigger stuffs. i still dont know if our neighboring towns will participate because iwe still didnt meet each other. i only heard that there are some other riders who do fr/dh... yeah, that's what i mean... a dry run among ourselves before going nationals... this is our first time palang eh. hehehe and other thing i kinda like the thought of having it as an urban dh but yung ibang riders dito d nila type mag pala o ano mang trail repairs. 2 lang kami dito na nag aayos ng trail. the others only like to ride them, i was thinking of burrying them alive inside the jumps para lumaki pa yung jumps namin.... they will be good fertilizers. hehehe thanks guys for the inputs.... had a talk with some of my riding buddies this afternun while we were riding. and i clarrified to them what the possible problems are and told them what's the long term goal of why we are really pursuing to make this one happen.

thanks again bros... by the way, i might cahnge the proposal letter..... i might change it and go for inviting riders outside our region. i might schedule it June next year in time of the Pintados festival here.... and on our first local race, i thought of having it like 50-50. hehehe 50 registration plus items as prizes and like 300 1st, 2002nd, 1003rd. more like a fun race. after all, sa inuman naman mapupunta yung lahat na yun. hehehe thanks guys... by the way, normally, how much is the budget for hosting a national race?

thanks... hehehe tommorow is D-day already.... hehehe
sad to say, some riders riders from our neighboring towns will not be coming because of the rain...sayang.... and i showed them the pics of the course and takot daw sila and their skills cant handle that yet. i prepared the course as smooth as possible and built options to roll so that even riders who spend a lot on brake pads and tires can finish the course as safe as possible.... sayang, d na mini red bull yung course. hehehe
cash prizes will be small, like 400, 300, 200. sa registration lang kinuha eh... tapos papakain pa kasi sa mga kabataan sa baranggay, pamasko sa kanila. but riders will be loaded of items, hehehe like packs from habagat, shorts and jerseys from kamikaze, jerseys from far out, sandals from crack, and high times. equipment from bukid outdoorshop. hehehe there will be some raffle items too. socials will be at my place. hehehe tuba will be served. hehehe
hope this turns out well and successful. hehehehe
