My 03 DJ 3 ITALY is sched for change OIL, (long overdue na) 3 years hehehehe maybe tuyot na.
Will try na this mod, sabay sa Change oil.
Have anyone of you tried lowering the DIJAY 3?
1. It involves puting a "spacer" on your damping rods.
2. the height you want to lower is equal to the height of your spacers.
3. SPACERS can be any cylindrical piece, SAWN OFF handle bars PVC pipes (as per the great TINTOI), use you imagination.
I planning to convert mine from 5 inch to 4 inch as in 100mm for XC (DJ3 for XC hehehe joke)
why??..... because!
post pics later.
WARNING! procedure voids warranty! hehehehehehehhe
NOTE: changing oil on forks are like refilling ink on your tech pens. you just need the right tools and service manual.

;Ddiagram: from pink bike: PVC pipes as spacer works as per Roslyn mendoza great TINTOI the idea is simply put spacers on the damper rods so travel is decreased. sample

@ Rocketman,
Before you do that, can we bring your fork to a priest and have him perform the extreme unction first? Hehehe.
And yes, GTU is correct when he says you are loaded with moolah (datung). Get a new fork! There's the Marzocchi Dirtjump fork series, there's the Argyle from Rockshox... There's even the RST Launch fork if your wallet is complaining already.
Translation: dehins ba at sheik ka sa Saudi at may malaki kang oil field? Heehhee. Give me your fork instead, sadik! And if you need some pvc pipes... I have some at the gym.

I've seen a lot of dirt jumpers here who modify their forks. One of my riding buddies converted his Pike (w/ U-turn) & installed Recon (or was it Revelation? I'll verify.) internals to reduce the travel down to 3". Post pics when you're done, Rocketman!

you lower it because front suspension & long travel is not necessarily needed in dirt jump, you ain't landing to a flat

my dj 3 03 is dismantled now, thank for the rain i stayed at home,
it easy,
sorry no pics (no digicam), will post here if can borrow one,
1. take off the plastic air cap both legs,
2. push the pin of scrader valve to let air out,
3. Box wrench the air cap off the stanchinons,
4. Pull out from the inside of both stanchions a black plastic tube and the coil springs.
5. Pour out the FORK oil in a drain pan any container,
6. Using an allen key, loosen both the shaft bolts at the bottom of the fork
7. Separate the stanchions from the lowers,
8. at the other end of the stanchions are CIRCLIPS, use CIRCLIP pliers to undo them.
9. You can now Pull out both the Damper rod assembly.
> Still looking for PVC pipes for spacer, Decided to run it 100mm or as a 4 incher, for all around riding.
> Oil level is at 160 cc per leg.

Yep...the mod is quite easy to do (but all i did was watch heheh) IMHO it wont affect performance since we only put limiters made of tough material (I used PVC) My mech friend Bong L. of BF Almanza is an expert in modifying forrks. He downhills too BTW. he fixes most of the DHers' bikes here. Including Eboy Farr's, Paolo Tan's, Roan Calatin's etc
