@ Patrick,
Ah no. The idea of using shin guards is justifiable especially from a trials point of view.

I agree with Patrick's first post on page 2 of this thread. To add to that, in my humble opinion a real rider is worthy of respect if he remains humble and helpful to less experienced bikers. No matter how much experience or skill a person has, he does not call himself good or great or claim that he has attained "legend" status. He lets the riding do the talking. Nor does he waste his time worrying about posers.

But since I rarely bring my pads along, ayun.... my shins are already scarred for life. Hehehe. Oh, and does anyone know why wounds inflicted by titanium heals a lot slower than most other wounds?

and there are strange habits of pinoys on how they like using hacksaws, hammers, chisels, screwdrivers, wrenches and other crude tools instead of using pipe cutters, rubber mallets and other special bike tools........ cuz from what i learned ang aluminum pupumtok pag hinahampas! hahahahahaha.........ewan ko! hahahahah..... GTU n hermie is right! DH mechanic for DH specific bikes..... nothing less totally agree.... so, taking out headset doesn't have to be pukpok but use a proper extraction tool for it........... now i learned something new.......... @ patrick's post on page 2... galing.... so very very good observer.........

santino.... titanium... as i have understand, WOLVERINE has adamantium altered to his DNA as his body easily heals from wound inflicted by his enemies... but he has a slow healing factor when it comes to other wounds inflicted by certain enemies like SABERTOOTH... as sabertooth does have special CLAWS which causes wolverines body to need more time to heal... our body when hit by titanium and got injured heals slowly... my answer... because titanium is so EXPENSIVE, so the healing process is slow... making us think that sana you just bought ALUMINUM mas Cheaper pa... mas madali pang gumaling ang sugat... another example.. if your titanium components got scratched.... it will also affect your mental state... as it will cause DEEP DEPRESSION as you think what happened and why.... also regrets of doing things or anger... and you can't do anything to rewind the situation... this is a much longer healing process....

hahahahaha!..... very true GTU...
and regarding the Hampas principle: when installing request the mechanic to use mechanical press..... ( ang DH bike di pinapalo ng kahoy o martilyo ...dehins YAN SIDECAR!)
when removing also request the mechanic to use extractor or mech. puller....(dehins nga pinapalo ng tubo yan! DH BIKE YAN dehins NGA SIDECAR!)
If your DH bike service guy doesnt have these ... i think you better find another shop that practice proper DH bike assembly procedures...... Dh bikes are precision machines... dehins sidecar na pinang haharabas! dyos ko pow!

it is also a must for every LBS that can handle good rigs that the mechanics be instructed to clean their hands a litle bit... as i've observed that there are lots of good mechanics but they don't lclean up their crafty magical hands as they handle the rigs of mostly richyrich customers...
it's ok for me for my ride to get dirty, not a big deal really... but imagine others, if that's your customer, they'll probably get turned-off and decide to do the repair thingy on other specialty shops with clean hands....
pickled poser turn-off in your shop... they pay a lot! and they can spend a lot in your shop.... just a reminder....
that's why many prefer for example, Powerbikes, all-terra, etc.., for the repair and maintenance...

WAAAAAAAAAAAAA................ wow GTU you mean to tell me, majority of the BPI(Brotherhood of Posers Inc.) are regular customers/clients of LBS with aircon shops and bright lights?
wow! way way back during the oldskul days of DH mtbiking here in the P.I. there were only a handful of DH bike shops... and the DH community were just a few hand picked individuals who loved the sport(wala pang poser noon! kc konti pa lang kami, katawa-tawa naman kung puro porma gagawin mo!).....
and back then harap harapan ka sasabihan na poser ka! even if u drove a land rover and rode a 200k DH bike and just hang out at DH LBS' ........ your just giving DH a bad image, kaya asar kami lahat.... but we just laugh it amongst ourselves.......... hahahahaha........
Growing up in the DH scene was kinda entertaining tho.... when you meet DH enthusiasts and they buy big time bikes.. then you invite them to for trail rides then they chicken inasal..... then they get pissed at you cuz your the real thing and they're not.... hahahaha.....
i normally shoot off my mouth but i'm pretty confident i got my balls to back it up, thats what separates Downhillers from DownhillPosers....................
(uuuuyyyyyy! psyblade sweet nyo ni badge nung tagaytay ReUnion! hahahahahah)

200k for dh bike then pose??? syet, I am wondering when will they gonna sell their parts, for sure it is only 5% used and 5% dust, then sell them at 30% to 40% off against shelf prices....
Koya Badong, no one will buy your components even at 80% off, because based from your posts, we already know how you use them heheheheh....
I think we can make use of your parts when our turnilyo got loose thread and we need replacements nyehehehe...

@rcg hehehehehe....... when i sell second hand items i dont sell for cash..... i just go "Punta ka bahay tingnan mo muna yung pyesa!"......heheheh... then i end up trading the part for 3 bottles of red horse 1liter.... hahahahaha........ and most of my 2nd hand parts kahit XTR pa yan dsnt go above 1k php ...hahahaha......
hehehe...... and rcg baka by dec. we'd come ride with you in isarog...... mga 4 days kami dyan heheheheh..........

I will join you but don't call me chicken inasal hehehhe, because maybe I am worse than that hahahha.
I think we will blame you for the lack of sellers of 2nd hand parts at the Buy and Sell section, they do not want to sell their blingbling as of the moment because they might be called posers. Bonus is already coming to town but I am really wondering why very few people want to sell their parts for upgrade.
"Oh my.... My brand new rotors have now scratches everywhere and it is only used twice, better sell it na before it gather more scratches..." Nyehehehhe....

ahehehehhe........ ber-months na... people will sell their old stuff and buy new ones... hehehehe... i'd bet the buynsell section will overflow relax, its all based on the economic status of the Philippines( baha ang dollar remitance pag ber-months!) and the socio-economic behaviour of filipinos...relax...
most pinoys during the ber-months just indulge in mindless-spending sprees and then worry bout debts after january........ (akala kasi di mauubos pera! ano ka may puno ng kwarta sa bahay?)...thats why most filipinos die and just pass their debts to the next of kin.........
nyak! home court mo.... chicken inasal pa hehehehe.........ikaw pa! hahahha

10k! What the...... Why did you not tell us earlier that you will give it for 10k, hmmm I think you've just used it for posing then you get pissed off because it is not much of a blingbling and not that chick magnet, its brand new runs for 17k w/o shock. That is about 41% off, you're a poser hehehehhe.....

guys and gays alike,
if redneb sells something from his arsenal... clearly than clear coat, it is not sira or damaged! pwedeng may gasgas but he will never sell you a defective item, unless he says its defective!
i remember when i bought Master Redneb's trixxter, (the one abused in maarat's 30 footer for how many times? i don't know how many!!), i made a reserveation, He priced it 10k for the frame only (no rear shox)...
i came to his house and pay him 10k,, y coz it's a very good deal!
what do i get?
i got the frame alright! but also..... everything that you have on a DH Bike except for the Fork and Front Wheel!
bonus: fsa headset, zoom super tibay handlepost, da bomb handlebar with grips, shifter, Navigator Hydrolic brakes F & R, Rear Wheel with rotor & dh tires, deore Cogs, Deore Rear Derailleur, Fire X Cranks, Chainguide, MPD Pedals (this is heavy duty!), Seatpost, Saddle, rusty chain, etc.!
i just need to place a Fork, A front Wheel, Rear Shox, and replace the rusty chain... and i'm out na in no time!
note: The fork was sold for a very reasonable amount that you can't imagine! eh tinamad (or sabog) kalasin yung Front wheel kc thru-axle, ayun hinugot lang yung tinidor ibinigay pati front wheel and rotor... ang saya ano?
this is what you call everybody happy!
buddy breaks stuff, but he will break your neck if you say that he sold you a broken item!
if you say that it's pumuputok, you run fast because may puputok... automatic or de sabog? you choose!

trixxter i miss you! if your reading this now.... i do miss you! but we need to part ways... but i love you!

Yes, we know Koya Bads sells good items and will not create something that will make his name bad, but we have to blame him for what is happening down the BnS section, now no one's selling their stuff (brand new and very slightly used) at 40% off because they might be called posers.

Post by REDNEB on Nov 12, 2007 8:03:49 GMT 8
naku pow! im innocent in the BnS section po! hahahahaha.....
@ uly.... hehehehehe..... hiniram ni ricky tool box ko, tinamad nako baklasin eh hehehehe.....
and i dont like to see bike parts kalat in the house when i have no bike hahahahaha.... kaka-sira lang ng ulo hehehehe........
If i say its defective... i sell it for beer money and i point you where it can be repaired b4 i sell it to you..... if its fresh its fresh talaga... heheheheh
** @ rcg...hhahahaha... nagasgas yung rotor 4 sale agad hahahah?.... Eh di ba ganun naman tlaga function ng rotor? magasgas ng brak pads? hihihihihi............................
