Been racing for a couple of years now and even had our own races here in majayjay but there's this one thing that always bugged me "STANDARD RACE RULES for DH". I've into many races but still people were always asking, what's the game rule, best time or UCI? i already discussed this thing before with my close DH friends like lord gtu and papa egay of team endless, is it like "its your race make your own rules"? any governing body that should handle these: like who's who on each category, are the active pro's allowed to step down in executive category? i also noticed some riders that stepped down to beginners category or over staying in beginners category no matter how long they're been joining races, well, luckily some are honest enough to move up. i know that a meeting was held before for these matter but i think, well in my own opinion, we need to work on this brothers, we already experienced a lot of booboos regarding the race rules sometimes rules change suddenly on the second heat and we cannot do something cos its the organizers own set of rules and we cant argue, why? its their own rules and we're just the poor competitors. lets work on these set of rules and make it standard for all DH races for our own sake....

UCI rules, there are minor loopholes in the current UCI list but it will cover all of the current problems faced in RP DH racing,
here in the RP categories are based on riding levels and achievements, 3 podiums and your goin up! hehehe....
UCI has a rule on how to categorize each rider properly, 3 or 5 of your race times will be averaged and the result will define which riding category you should be placed,
for the overstaying people, its true some just sandbag to retain their current categories. thats their choice in their riding career.... the rules just take effect if you win ..? i wonder why that is....
UCI rules are like PGA rules.... play the course as it lays..... even natural disasters are covered here.... the decision is primarily dependent on the organizers to cancel or re-sked DH runs according to their discretion..... they have the right to cancel or re-sked but not change the rules...........
but then again i dont like politics..........thats why i keep a jungle bolo and a shotgun in my pick-up..hehehehe

@ bender, papa, i know that UCI rules have loopholes, even Bryan Lopes was victimized by these rules and even pay the penalties. i guess we have a different case here...we dont have a standard race rule...not even a 3D or Hanabishi, hehe

WTF!........ heheheh its ok we hav KOWA(oops kyowa !) and IMARFLEX!
ummm some race organizers tend to make their own race standards too accomodate their own local riders' podium positions...... how sad!
i told u i dnt like politics eh! hahahahahha.........

hmmm.. race rules...
i think its about time... but the problem is politics... sometimes big companies tend to have the muscle.. but im happy for its a bit out na..
i guess someday there should be a meeting, layout the rules..
some one bring a laptop and printer, maybe PinoyMTBiker can sponsor the posting and updates...
from there anyone can access his standing...
i guess its better to have a point system and keeping of time to determine the bracket...
so the bracketing will be by time, not how long you have been riding...
history my friend

We have to go for TAG TEAM DH relay race
1 pro, 1 novice, 1 beginner, 1 master/executive
total their time divided by 4 is equals to AVERAGE TIME oops there goes that controversial word again.
How about this one,
Your Dh bike is dismantled at the starting line, at go signal you assemble it and race it down.
even your dh fork is dismantled and you have to bleed the brakes, all in 24 hours.
Or this one,
All participant's Dh bike have a number, if you are called and it's your race run, you will pick
a number from the tambiolo, that will be your dh bike for the race.
sorry IPIS roach you have to wait for me 3 more years before I became executive tie, manager category hehehe
now its extendead, and GTYULY hehehe match.
why is executive nailed at 35 years of age ha? why not 60?
will have funeral cars instead of ambulance.

when we've organized mtb races (men's health all terrain race), we used the uci rules as a guideline. they're there to use and it's the world standard so it's a good place to start for any kind of cycling race. it includes general rules, categories, course marking, safety, officiating etc. www.uci.ch/templates/UCI/UCI2/layout.asp?MenuId=MTkzNg

Yeah I had the misfortune of being called a liar in CAMSUR...I thought UCI rules state that its the birthyear that counts not the birthday nor the birthmonth. Or the organizers didnt know any better ? I could have podiumed then pa naman heheh. oh well .. fun racing rules! My birthmonth s Oct also

best of 2hits that the usual ruling in our DH races [ y change it] are we too many to compete besides our DH race only good for 1 day also it almost a year end & still no DH race in big city mabuti p mindanao, aside s bikeshop o privateer yong magpaparace supportado ng local govt basta e date fall lng s fiesta fev para may budget....... ;D trans: this year only mindanao are the only active in DH sports....... my only suggestion: start a DH/mtb organizing body

heheeh thats the catch, papa evs evrytime theres festival tehers race thats why flying to n from cost like 10t+ from premuim airline to 6t+ for klunky airline. then if u win u only get half of total expenses paid, and ur still broke...hehehehe.....
umm even if we r not plenty we should start implementing the UCI system, its available its very adept, ive been a member since 1990... heheheh still have my blue ID.... lol (TRANS:shite may amag na sa plastic)...hehehe
