16 inches of Hbar! hahahah so did he finish that time? Thanks Budiful Buddy! ey papa alphabolt... ( rhyme ahh..) buds mean 16" hardtail frame... yeah eboy quinones wins.. not only XC race< DH as well, this is one all around guy.. if i remember he podium at AFP race (ang fast papa ) beating BANS for 2ng place, its like 1 JAMES SARDEA, 2 EBOY QUINONES, 3 BANS MENDOZA... ( A GOOD PODIUM BY BENTSPOKE , 2 N 3) EBOY Q OR EQ, QUALIFIED 2 OR 3RD AT CULASI (FASTESTMAN DOWN) BUT BEATENED BY EBOY FARR FOR THE PODIUM.. NOW THATS EQ!! ;D Ahhh 16inch frame size pala heheh That s ok. I thought Buddy boy was talking about the length of the Hbar...coz 16 is uber crazy I went down with 24" hbars sa Upak trail (rough and fast) at DH speed and it was scary! (specially with no armor except for my flimsy XC helmet. You get sketchy handling with less than 26 inches Hbar IMHO EQ + IQ rules! thanks, brad!

koya badi, i have a question... 1. what tire pressure is best for downhilling?... - the trail is the factor for your tire pressure and your riding style.. there is no such thing as general tire pressures... its more of a trial and error thing, ( thats why in DH racing there is practice run ) ohh and also the current weather conditions... u cant have a same type of riding style and tire psi at rainy n muddy to sunshine course!!2. aside from your using tires what dh tires can you recomend?... - there are many good tires, like maxxis, kenda, tioga etc... ryt now im using tioga factory... cause somebody bought all the minions!!! its like you try this tire and know its limits..
tires are more on marketing hype...
although minions and nevegals are good tires3. define: a. freeride/downhill b. agressive freeride/agressive downhill - just ride, u can never really define a single ride.. those are just marketing BS.. to push some frames and parts...??4. there is a a ticking sound at my coil rear shox when i initially pump it pero wala na pag ride mosya...is it the spring rubbing with the preload cap adjuster? - maybe there are some loose bolts or something, maybe your bike or shocks will just explode... wahahaha... u say again?? tick..tick... tak?? ;D [/b]

Neb, i'll take a stab at this one. Ticking sound, first check the pivot bolts, if they're tight, take off spring, compress and extend shock and check for tolerance issues. ( hitting knobs and such ). If everything is tight and nothing's hitting. then it's probably all the tiny tolerances adding up that is all but impossible to get rid of??? try lubing the pivots before you "higpit macho"

Alphabolt.... at that time eboy Q used a 16" GT hardtail frame XC pure XC set-up, with XC stratight bars with bar ends and 1.95 tires on mavic 223s .............. a certain KHS Dominatraxx and an M-1 intense couldnt catch up to eboy q, the only thing those 2 top pro riders said were TRANS: "HALIMAW TALAGA SI EBOY".... hehehe... those were the wonder years!

.......... yup, i pmed coiler 2 days ago , that it might be the bolts n bushings , but then it might be the end of the spring just pressing down on the adjuster end.. heheh
........... i had the same problems on a certain 5the element before hehehe... jimi dator cured it with his wonderful lathe machine.... hehehe
............ if its ticking, its prolly a bomb! hahaha.. its metal to metal ............ if its squeeking its time to get it serviced... hehehe ............ i learned that from quiesledaddy and OYI heheheeh... tnx papi nono

@ rocketman
ryt now im using tioga factory... cause somebody bought all the minions!!! its like you try this tire and know its limits..
........... i wonder why that is so? i visited the primary distributor of these tires! (Trans: Katayan).. the people that bought out all the tires were driving 2007 toyota hilux pick-ups and the other one a 1999 ford ranger...... when Ross' stocks came, these 2 individuals also bought out all his stocks! ..... Minion DHR/ DHF is my top choice but because of its unavilabilty eh, i riding on 2.6 nokians................ whats makin me curious is these 2 dnt have bike shops so where did they bring all those tires? ........hence: HOARDING!

for 98% no flats... use Ado de leon style ... double tire set-up..its heavy but even if you hit so hard your eyes pop out yer pretty sure you aint gonna go flat on your run. the 2% is IF the tires rip out of the rims at high speeds.... it happens heheeheh

Dear Bender,
A lot of people having been converting their tires to tubeless, using Stan's sealant and all that jazz. Rocketman is currently running this setup.
Have you tried the tubeless thingy already?
I wonder how long does the pressure hold anyway? I want to ask Rocketman, but since I can't speak his language, it's difficult getting an answer from him. All I hear is "HeeHeeHeeHee..."

GETS! aryt... hell i dunno, go do your homework!

hey boys n gurls, lets give ourselves a round of applause. we are currently the 3rd highest read n visited thread in this corner of the world.
the more hits we get means the more times we as a whole community are exposed, which in every positive way is another step closer to being understood and accepted as the "SPECIAL BRANCH OF MTBIKING" .
and again, this thread is soley based on what evryone and almost anyone who knows a thing or to bout DH bikes, DH riders and DH lifestyles. I started this thread with the secondary purpose of breaking the ice, between the old-skul riders and the youngblood, thus making DH more accessible and comfortable for those who intend to indulge in the sport.
To my dear admins, id like to thank you for the support you have given me n everyone to share the behind the tape and beyond the line insights of our home-grown DH riders. I kinda got over the makin walls stuff, now i just build bridges...
So come on everyone, if ur mind is curious and it needs to be fed, here is an all-new feeding ground for all you gravity junkies, not only can we relate to you comfortably, we now feed it with multiple real-world solutions.
love BUDDY,

hahaha....
im happy with buddy to break it tru.. kasi DH is always misinterpreted as just for the adrenalin junkie or those who want sakit ng katawan type of sport..
ive experienced it especially at bikeshops or some social rides... when guys make pakilala na im a downhiller.. they just smile n i can see in their faces the lack of respect..
they usually think they are better than us ( usually die hard XC dudes ) that all we just do is go down the mountain at uncontrolled speed..
i did read the thread from page 1 till now... if you read between the lines.. you will see DH as just any other discipline of mountain biking. the trainning, the mental discipline.. etc..
well i just say we are all the same discipline... the only difference is DH unleased the lunacy in you, it is the cursed of the full face helmets... you dont realized it cause you are wearing one...
ride hard! ride free!
