@ extendead What is the most effective exercise or trainning for me to have a very good sprinting power?? does eating chicken feet at snowhite's store will make me faster??
..............proper cool down exercise after the ride will condition and tone your muscles properly, thus training them for longer sprint thresholds...... no adiddas at snowhite's does not help!
................Yes Mr Lex evangelista is correct, SMB lite contains enough carbs to replenish the body's demand... 20 bottles hehehe....... carbs=long term energy storage, protein=quick energy storage.... oks

If you're gonna manufacture one, how 'bout the aluminum parts like the support plate, and specially the brake mounts, can local aluminum T6 withstand stress like the quality materials of those branded? Or will you make it thicker to compensate?
|
|
|
Post by REDNEB on Sept 24, 2007 16:48:09 GMT 8
@soul
ALu parts are easy to purchase, binondo or pasay T6 is standard alu slab, but stronger and lighter dsnt mean thicker, Large scale machineshops can mend magnesium or other steel reinforcing elements on your T6 slab....
then using CNC lathe n cutters would give you the precision cuts required for production, the brake rod can most likely will be made from a cast-iron slab... longer life span for the brake rod... the weight issues dnt bother me much.. a 2-3 lbs increase in weight is well worth it if you can maximize the braking ability of the bike on high speed tech sections...

Thanks! Not too concern of the weight issue also as far as downhill rig is concern, I'm just thinkin' of the pivot point of the brake mount if in case you're gonna have issues regarding extra long axle or retro-fittings.

Ow, Mr. Red! I haven't been too Grotto for quite a long time now. Is it still open for DH riders? I've heard a lot of rumors like it's off-limits to outsiders and the singletrack suffered a landslide and it not accessible anymore. Grasyas amigo!

........ hehe, Grotto is still open... its safe........ th single track sections are now angry rock gardens, rain n erosion has made the trail narrower , but it has exposed most of the rock base and its still good. the upper portion(Y-Tree upto the kubo) is all sub-graded because the roadworks in progress.... and the groto portion too...
oh and bring plenty mosquito repellant...plenty!

To develop ninja skills... Hmm... there are two methods that I recommend.
The serious method would be to go to Japan and train with the Ninjutsu grandmaster Masaaki Hatsumi of the Togakure-Ryu.
If you're not that serious about it, then I suggest this method:
1. Collect the old videos of Karate Kid 1 and 2, and go study the technique of wax on/wax off and the drum punch technique.
2. Go and see if you can find videos of American Ninja and go imitate David Bradley while riding.
3. Put a lot of Ben-Gay on your cojones and then go for a ride. The more technical the trail, the better.
4. Go to a certain PCP commander's house and go kick his pit bull. Make him really angry. Both of them.
5. Go to Paulina's store and go kiss her lovely daughters. Don't run, mind you.
6. Go to Ross Cycle and go kiss his lovely mechanics. You can run, they like it that way.
7. Go to a downhill event, bring a bolt cutter and go cut the spokes of all the pro riders' bikes using DT Spokes.
Guaranteed ninja reflexes galore!

....................... Hmmmm..... interesting
3. Put a lot of Ben-Gay on your cojones and then go for a ride. The more technical the trail, the better. ............... tried this actually, the first time it was deliberate(I WAS CURIOUS EH!) ............... the second time it was mandatory... the other riders dumped omega painkiller on my cojones, to no avail cuz i was having cramps up to my lower torso! hehehe
5. Go to Paulina's store and go kiss her lovely daughters. Don't run, mind you
................ extendead tried this at Christy's he got away clean, i dunno if he can repeat it at paulina's tho. hehehe
** one more technique for enhancing your reflexes: collect 200 beer bottles and ask a friend to hurl it at you 1-2 bottles at a time... now start catching! if in any event you survive without a scratch.... do it everyday for 30 days..........

good reflexes is a good base skill to start learning other DH riding skills tho...
but then again Dh requires: speed, endurance, finesse, execution, and sometimes just a whole lot of luck....... ur brain cant multi-task downhill cuz 90% of the time your brain is processing what your eyes can see.......... and 10% is all instinct when it comes to motion.

The Extendead Crouching Rider Hidden Kulangot Kung-fu...
1.When facing Bans Mendoza, he uses the Dragon style [no brushing of teeth for ten days].
2. When facing Joseph Oncada, he uses the Crane style [as in he uses a boom crane to wallop the guy.] Translation: dehins kaya dahil malaki ang katawan, kaya gamit malaking makina.
3. When facing Boyet Camba, he uses the Snake style [translation: lingkis at sabay tuklaw].
4. When facing Christy's daughter, he uses the Cheetah style [translation: Takbo!].

anyone,
How about enhancing memory for track reading and trail reading, in dh racing, suggestions,
do we need to know all the endemic flora and fauna found in the race tracks?
even the slippery lumot (moss) and terrain and rock formations, weather, wind direction,
prevailing humidity and temperature?
because if you get nervous you mental block just like in the exams
and when you knock out all is lost.

.....................one doesnt really have to memorize everything, only significant markers/ landmarks on entry points for sections that the rider needs to execute and also exit points, normally creating lines are tricky at first, newbie riders tend to mis-interpret "lines" as ruts or low sections in the terrain, .... in professional racing "lines" are the highest points in a section or terrain which gives better vantage points on entry , main obstacle n exit .. this is like connect the dots but the straightest line is always the fastest line taht is if u can fly/glide your way .......... heheheh you think you got the steve peat moves? try it!
** if u crash, ur mental state will be reduced to 50% efficiency depending on the impact..hehe **if u crash, ur adrenaline level will shoot up so high that you will palpitate and suddenly feel the fatigue setting in!
Adrenaline is a good weapon for DH riding, but controlling and modulating adrenaline for more efficient performance levels is something you dont learn by reading , this takes practice and application!
hehehehe
