bump..... uy elders daw yetiman oh...... lol.... hala!
@evs yes foot position is also different on both pedals.... veery true....
Flat pedal users tend to set their feet slightly centered to the pedal spindle for balance n control... the lack of ability to clip on to pedals are compensated by upper body arm-pumping... watch n observe the difference.... flat riders tend to arm pump more frequently than clipless riders...... ehehehehehehe.....
on the other hand..........
Clipless pedal riders tend to set their feet a little more forward due to the cleat position..... hence u get a more efficient pedal stroke as compared to the flat pedal stroke wherein more effort is given to the legs to correct pedal distortions.... BUT!!!!!! but due to the position of clipless pedals more stress is applied to the ankles and calves... but less effort exerted on the upper body.... cuz control is enhanced by being connected to the pedals thru your legs,.....

its true when wearing flats the pedalling motion not too good compared to cleat pedal but the advantages of flat users on races they never tend to slow down in corners, as if u want more to tackle everything on what in there the trak, in every aspect of the trak flats seems to be dominating than cleats.......love my easton flat pedal & dx shimano perfek combo muah!!!!

The whole argument that SPD’s are faster than flats on downhill holds no weight whatsoever. Chainless races see the SPD riders going but a few seconds slower, The Don, Rennie, Sam Hill and Kovarik are as fast as they are simply because they are more powerful, skilful and have an ability to deal with fear better than most. That’s what makes them rapid, not what bloody shoes they’re wearing.
See, we’ve always had to dab our feet on the ground ever since Baron Von Drais invented his walking machine in 1817. Tying your body to your bike remember is nothing new, and whilst Ernest Michaux was one the first to run flat pedals in the 1850’s, Clement Alder featured primitive toe clips in 1868. But history aside (although the last national race in the UK was won on flats) there is still no scientific evidence to prove SPD’s or flat pedals are better than each other. But just to keep you guessing…Chris Kovarik, Fort William, ‘02. Steve Jones.

So here's a question.... Do you think Sam Hill would have still won the overall WC and Worlds in 07 if he was using clipless pedals.
Answer... YES of course... ;D
