I think this is the bike we should really be anticipating! But I think the M5 is just going to be a better SOCOM and it's probably going to be a FRO also if it's going to be between 8-9lbs.

It's the intense 6.6 SlopeStyle. The geometry is still being formed up but i think it has the front triangle of a SOCOM but with a stronger rear triange. Check out the Intense forums on MTBR, it looks like intense is taking advice from the people. Sorry to derail the thread! Here are some pics from MTBR. It's supposed to be 8.5lbs with Ti spring and have the same amount of travel as the M3 but with a longer stroke shock. More details on the MTBR thread on it. forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=282372

Intense, Santa Cruz, Giant Maestro are using the VPP( Virtual Pivot Point) designed by Outland. I dont know if Santa Cruz solely bought it. FSR is Horst link made by Horst Leitner, patent bought by specialized. This is what I know, I hope it is still right.

But since I know that intense is coming out with an M5 next year, a lighter and equally capable bike, Ill hold on to my wallet now... Wont you? Its not like I can afford to buy a new frame every year.

Maestro is not VPP.... different.
I'm not sure why SC is more desirable here in the Phils but in the US and in Canada, Intense is known to be of a higher end bike than SC.... which is reflected in the pricing of their frames as well. yes i know... to each his own, plus i'm biased.

Yup are right...But SC is way cheaper than Intense here in the Philippines. And most DH riders here can't afford to own an Intense. They are both great bikes, both WC level bikes...Altough SC have a powerhouse DH Team.
