Guys, I have no idea what type of course this is. It would be great to get in touch with BMB Prez Oca Hidalgo. His number is (02)043-300-0039 or 0927-449-3955.
I have a map going to Taysan (in excel format!) from them for those who need it. Email me at jovanpuyo at yahoo dot com.

Raul, nope. sold my roadbike to pay-off real estate taxes. The plan was to upgrade after a while but wifey got pregnant so all bike expenses got held. So I'm stuck w/ my mtb till baby is born late Oct. So by x'mas, roadbike shopping na uli!
Jovan, thanks for Oca's no. I'll call him and relay his description of course.

Ok Guys, Just spoke w/ Oca, he describes the Taysan Course as follows:
Its similar to EBD race but w/o the treacherous climbs. There will be climbs but not as bad and as long. There will be rough road sections w/ fist sized rocks & stones. There will be a river crossing which is knee-deep.
It normally takes average riders 2 hrs to complete! bilis nun noh? 32.5 kph average!!!

Wow...can a newbie join this and survive? heheh never raced XC before ..DH and Enduro pa lang arnel, it will be my first time to join a marathon race and it's going to be hands-on education how it differs to an mtb crit race i guess we've heard stories already during the EBD (also a marathon race) how it tested the racers' character. and that is saying a marathon race is as tough as it gets, no sugar coating there. my honest opinion (not expert advice) is it's going to be 50/50 that you will finish it. same goes my end. and i'm joining. and hopefully finish it. tara..

This is exciting! the more the merrier bros! for the first timers just think of finishing the race as your goal not to win.. we've been doing 65 kms routes so theres no reason not to try. to those who are used to do 50-100 km or more rides are most fit to take the challenge. this is the right time to test yourselves! if its only not my wife's despedida on the 22nd i'd be joining again. i did join the last ebd race and it was really fun! the course was really hard but i managed to finish in a decent time. com'on guys join na! *better yet if you could survey the route before the race event. it would be a big mental advantage.
