Guys,
Yesterday we had discuss during our ride in Sta Ines this forthcoming Cecon 24 bike madness...The mods were suggesting to list your name if you are opt to join this event. Owen and Paul will categorize us so that there will be a balance team in our part....Most of us are eager to join this event but do not have a team...List down your names if you wish to join and formed a cluster group here in PinoyMTBiker.
List of Interested riders. 1.Owen (Fattire) 2. Paul (Freeman) 3. Milo 4. Jon 5. Tolits 6. Troy 7. Brusko 8. Jay 9. 10
Add your name if you want to have a team on this event. One good thing, we can negotiate for the entry fee if we will have a multiple team to compete on this event...On my part, I'd like to join to experience this wonderful event.......

ei milo! i thought no one's interested. i asked from the original thread if anyone is willing to go to the reserve to see/experience the trail/route first-hand. i would like to sign-up, but i guess i would like first to see the trail/route first... can we sked a group ride?

hey i'll team up with anybody...i just want to experience it.
btw, i have few questions: i believe there's a fee in entering the venue 1) are they going to allow registered racers to read the track (not the regular trail) prior to the race? 2) for free? 3) is there a pass for cars so that support people can get in and out of the venue without being charged everytime?

we're doing this pooling thingy for so many reasons: preparation, logistics, grouping and that discount which will become more likely if we can show the organizers a strong number of participants.
join in!

Kate(qt_kat) During my pre-med, we had our Ecology tour in La Mesa Dam , and part of the area we visited was deep inside the forest trail. I remember asking my classmates; what if you happen to pass by this forest at night? Scary thought huh?....Now imagine if your ride shift happens to be at nightime and most of the guys gave up already ;D....Freeman is already 3kms ahead of you and your bike light sucks bigtime Join pa rin kami ;D ;D ;D

They are always able to get a booking for weekdays though.

Tips: If you join in a tag team make sure to prepare lots of foods, water, sports drink, jerseys(at least 2), bike lights and tent. Also good to bring grill for BBQ and lots of carbo (rice and bread). Make sure to eat and rest after the runs. Dont stop until you guys are really done. I mean dont take a rest for the night and continue in the morning. Believe me as soon as you stop and take a rest for next day. Your leg were sore and your mind says no more ;D. Be careful after the second run because the trail become more dangerous. The path were get abuse, really loosen and dusty (like a powder) due to repeated runs. Next day probably just enjoy the BBQ and eating and watch for the race. If you be able to do more runs is not a bad idea. Its a good idea to check the surrounding area before the race. But sometimes they change the course. Best on experience in 12 hours race. 9 miles loop with 4 men crew. Every team had to carry a small stick (tag stick) exactly fitted to the tight short. If you lost the stick game over. The first 3 relay run took us the average 40 minutes to finish the loop. Then goes 45 minutes then a hour. After the scheduled run we eat carbo (bread and sports drink) right away, removed jersey (soaking wet) massage your leg then take a nap. Remember your next run could be in next 2 hours. Good luck PinoyMTBiker..dont forget to take picture to share .

Thanks for the excellent tips Jr. This is really going to be a fun event. It's also important to have a support crew for the teams, to make sure the riders do not run out of food and water or anything else they might be needing. Milo - I think Mt.G had the same idea but King advised against it, if people daw keep entering the forest reserve illegally, bantay kalikasan might shut access completely
