I'm 6'2" and 185lbs w/c makes me....Anderson Silva! naks Well , sa kulay pareho ni spider 185lbs, hey that's my desired weight but it seems that im just pegged at high 190s and low 200s. at least now i can drag myself around with ease. i really don;t know if it was right replacing my drinking sprees with cycling and hanging out at the UP Pool without alcohol

I used to be pegged at 200 for a long time If I eat less , I get sick or training load goes down naks! What I did is my Ningas Cogon sa Training Diet para sa tamad mag train I only eat high amounts of carbs right before , during and imediately after training During the afternoons ( I ride sa early AM) and recovery days , my carbs are restricted to leafy veggies and fruits and errr.....beer and aminos ( pulutan ) W/ limited carbs , your body will burn body fat ( hula ko lang hehe ) Down to 185lbs from 200 in a month , no power loss a training and I still get to eat a lot

i would like to believe my bones are just heavier hahahaha same here, i dont consume rice aside from friday nights before a saturday bikeout. my swim coach always tells me don't get too concerned about your weight, it wil follow suit. the goal is getting stronger, endure more and quicker recovery. i lost already 40+lbs since mid 2008 and i only got kinda serious last jan when i got a road bike. now our gas bill dropped significantly hahahaha

MountGuitar is right dont focus on biking it will just make you more
hungry hehehehe..
Im not bragging about this little accomplishment but I use ti weight 235lbs down to 192, if you eat a lot you must also exercise a lot meaning you must burn what you intake if not it will became all stored fats in you belly, braso, legs. thigh and ass...
The key is EAT proper, and stay active
Just my 50cent opinion

my first time to get into serious biking was way back 1997. i lost 25lbs doing 80kms/ week. due to an accident that happened to an in law, my family told me to stop. i again tried biking just recently (1mo) and been doing 80kms/week parin. i hope that this will continue as i'm nearing 40yo and thinking of getting rid of vices by then. btw i'm 5'10 and 255lbs.

oh by the way, diets dont work. if your going to get hungry, better eat. unahan mo na bago ka pa magutuman. or else, you metabolism slows down. eat frequently (every 2 hrs) pero small portions. you'll be surprised at the results, hehehe ;D.

On the contrary, I focused on biking primarily to loose weight. I started at 86kg, here I am now at 72.5 kg. Biking alone brought my weight down. I had no change in diet, what I eat before, I still eat now. The key is riding long distance at a reasonably high intensity. I'm nearing my weight goal of 68.5 kg, by that time, I would have a BMI of ~22 (body mass index) which is the normal weight for me according to many online sites. I find loosing the last few kgs is the hardest part though.

angelo, yup i was there, btw were planning a bike out from cabanatuan to baler. perhaps you can join us. may or june --------- i lost weight more on the raodbike than the mtb. but i surely lost most of my weight in cycling compared to the swim and run. well, maybe with the lack of daily rice and alcohol (boring life)

I find loosing the last few kgs is the hardest part though. angelo, that is true. but if you really want results fast and easy, you can focus on building muscle mass on the big muscle groups like your back, chest, thighs, and arms. i suggest you lift weights (dumbells). what you did is astonishing. no one could ever think of doing that except for those people who are really into biking and not weight loss. maybe your first impression was to loose weight but since you enjoyed biking, you took it one step further. some people bike for weight loss. while some people bike becoz they like biking. you are the latter my friend. you're a biker at heart. you wouldnt be at subic (TLBF) just so you could lose weight, right? hehehe ;D. so in short, if folks would want to lose weight thru biking, think again. the road to gettting fit on a bike is loooong..............hehehe. ;D. angelo's formula works but you have to love biking altogehter. . well, in my case, i really love biking. i didnt even notice my bulges back then. i only noticed them when they started to shrink, hehehe ;D. by the way, check out thetruthaboutabs.com. got most of my ideas from there. thanks to bm5er for posting that.

angelo, yup i was there, btw were planning a bike out from cabanatuan to baler. perhaps you can join us. may or june Make it May so that its not rainy season yet. PinoyMTBiker peeps including me have done that route already. My first try was pure pain, I did it again just a couple of months ago and its not that hard any more. Lets do it. Do you mind if I bring some buddies along? @ mountG - pare I really love biking. hehehe... When I was in high school, I had this mini mountain bike and I would go places using it. My longest journey on that bike was around 80 km when I was in first year HS. I did it alone coz noboby wants to come with me ;D. I will try to look at the site you posted, I feel that I lack fitness in my mid section, my lower back was hurting a little during this mornings ride. I was at subic because we wanted to try racing for a change. It was our first ever MTB race so it was a real learning experience for us. Were planning to do the Menshealth race on june 15 but its not yet final. P.S. The Sierra Madre is still a pain, only less painful now since I was doing pasyal pace during my 2nd time. On my first time with the PinoyMTBiker peeps, it was like a race.. ;D

Hello! I made this my very 1st post because this is the very reason I started biking in the 1st place. 2yrs ago I weighed 140lbs, then worked at a call center for a while then I ballooned to 195lbs!!! Same as equus I hate cardio work outs! So I bike to work everyday so I don't have a choice but to finish the route! ;D Its about 7.6km from our house in QC to the office at Caloocan and every Sunday for the past 3 weeks me and my cousin and friends ride our bikes all over the metro! Anyway... Was a 195 pounder to 170lbs in just a month!! Never knew that racing with reckless buses and killer jeepneys would make me loose some weight! That would be it for now! Thanks and Take Care!

CONGRATS CONGRATS!!!
i think more and more of us commuters are starting to prop up... i wish more people can do this too but its just such a pain to take a bath and stuff for work...
Im still up to it though... i did and finished the lungcaire thingy... first large obstacle and first century ride... its been all worth it... THANK GOD ive been biking quite a bit before i did this... anyways, its nice... i want to go back on a more relaxed pace... or rather i want to go back a bit stronger para mas relaxed papunta... yesterday i thought i'd @#$% out my lungs and heart sa sobrang pagod... anyways, my weight has stayed and maintained but my cardio is gaining... upped my swimming 2x a day, every other day... with work out... then bike to work 2 to 3x a week, with one long ride on the weekends...

The taking a bath part is not an issue for me coz I have the luxury of taking a bath at work when I get there...^_^ My problem right now is that after loosing weight fast in the beginning, now its really hard to go bellow 165lbs....^_^ Im gaining muscles I guess..

I know what you mean cmtulis, I'm having the same problem but somehow I'm still loosing weight although a lot slower. Two weeks had pass and I only lost a pound. What I did was I incorporated some strength training just what mountG advised. Added lower back strengthening exercises to improve my posture. It also helps in bike handling and endurance.
