That's what I need , spine reailignment I use a 39x25 sa climbs dito on my roadie I dont know if it's my knees , my back or my frame creaking brad , I dunno if crouching + standing pedal uphill is good for our backs--->roadie geometry I think that MTB's more upright form + ala stairmaster climbing is better vs back strain If ever I ll build up a roadie bike , it will look awful coz I ll have the cockpit higher than normal to counter back issues yeah most >35 bodies creak na heheh I can attest to that

Hmmm... Very interesting thread. Living here in the US for a few years now, we've been bombarded with so many medical studies (tv, radio, paper) on: this causes that, that causes this, this is bad, this is good but now it's found to be bad, etc., etc. While knowing as much as we can about medical advances & findings, it's getting to a point where you really don't know what to believe anymore. Diet soda was good & now studies have shown it doesn't really have any benefits. Coffee was considered bad in whatever amount & now they have studies showing it's actually beneficial in moderation. They used to say iodized salt is better than rock salt; guess which one's better now? Long stretching is good before an exercise; now they have studies showing long stretches before an activity is actually bad. Hayayay! I don't have to time to worry about every single study doctors conduct.
The way I see it, it all boils down to do whatever it is that you want to do. Life is short & the last thing you want to happen is you're on your deathbed about to croak thinking you should've at least tried to bunny hop up that sidewalk when your legs were still capable of holding your weight. So eff it! If my bone density is in bad shape compared to people who'd rather sit on a couch & watch soap opera on tv, then my bones will be breaking on me on the trails. ;D

You're right Anshwa, I'm whining. Hehe.
It'd never get to a point where I'd avoid riding though. ;D ;D ;D

No, dude, you're not whining. It's all the stuff we read & see & hear that makes all of us (not just you) worry so much. I do the same sometimes & then suddenly it'll hit me to just go do what I gotta do. It's all good, brad. ;D Ride on!

If my bone density is in bad shape compared to people who'd rather sit on a couch & watch soap opera on tv, then my bones will be breaking on me on the trails. ;D well said, brad on the pain side..... That s what I tell the dozens of PTs who have worked on my back. I tell them that it all boils down to : pain management not remedial measures. I cant do anything about my back pains anymore except exercise. I dont like to have a back surgery done on me...so...just treat that pain and ride on If your wife cant stop you from biking, your body pa kaya! ;D
