;D whoopi, kulot, i would say the same if i heard the story after the LOTR came out..but it was told more than 20 years ago when i was still in high school long before LOTR. just one of those strange stories i heard that i can still remember up to now.

There are people like Whoopie (and me) who have never felt or seen or been affected by anything
supernatural. Doesn't mean there's nothing out there.
A cousin of mine took a pee in a soil that used to have a tree. He started having epileptic seizures immediately after that. An ambularyo was able to cure him and he had zero recollection of the several months of his
supernatural experience. Up to this day, I have not heard of anybody being cured of epilepsy like my cousin did.
Another case was my mom who swore she see something in her mirror in the dark. So we put over a cloth to cover it at night. One time I woke up in the middle of the night and removed the cloth expecting to see "mounds of hair floating on air" instead of my reflection, well, all I saw was my hair standing on ends! The next day I asked my dad if I should be afraid of ghost because I can't see them.
This is what he told me: "There are people who see and those who don't. If you don't there's nothing to fear. If you never hurt anybody, there's nothing to fear. Sometimes, the ghost is inside our heart because we did something we shouldn't have. That's why it is very important to be honest."
Many years later, after reading science fiction novels and watching LOTR, this is my conclusion.
We are not alone.
Ours is not the only planet, and not the only galaxy. Our dimension is not the only one that exist in time either. There are many unexplained situations, unexplained sicknesses and cures, and unexplained wealth (but that's a different story, a long one).
In every instance, we must respect others and not impose ourselves. Always be willing to learn, ask for help for something we don't understand.
While there are many faux (fakes) healers in the midst, we cannot totally disregard their purpose. Seek the right one and you shall be free from your burden!
P.S. Concerning somebody drafting behind you, Allegra... as long as you're not in danger, then lucky you. Stop complaining! The explanation is that you must be such a magnetic balbon! ;D
P.P.S. Lord of the Rings: The Twin Towers
The scene: -----------------------------------START----------------------------------------- Gathering of the trees, we have thus agreed I have told your limbs to the Elders. we have agreed you are not orcs.
Well, that's good news
"What about Saruman? Have you come to a decision about him?"
Now don't be hasty. Master luke
Hasty? our friends are out there. They need our help. They cannot fight this war on their own.
War? Yes. You must understand, young hobbits. Takes a long time to say anything in all endish and we never say anything & if it is worth taking a long time to say... We cannot hold back the storm. We must weather such thing as we've always done.
How can that be your decision?
This is not our war.
But you're part of this world, aren't you? You must help, please! You must do something.
You are young & brave, Master Libby. But your part in this play is over. Go back to your home.
Libby: Maybe tree was right. We don't belong here. It's too big for us. what can we do here? We got the shire. Maybe we should go home.
The fire of Eisengard will spread and the wood & buckland will burn And all that was once great & good in this world will be gone, there won't be a shire, Libby. ------------------------------------STOP-----------------------------
In not less than 500 words, expound what this scene is telling us.
P.P.P.S. Marcs, go for it. Nothing to lose and everything to gain. Hope you'll be fine soon. I'd try "mental yoga" if I were you.

im just really curious.... coz i've heard and seen a lot of supernatural stories......... like "kulam", "na-nuno sa punso" but how come not everybody are experiencing it..........
i can understand why hospitals cant trace the real cause of "supernatural deseases" coz it's just simply misdiagnosed..... (a lot of people died in misdiagnosed by doctor, just like my uncle who died in septic shock, in which doctor discovered it when my uncle is about to pass away) but all these supernatural desease.......... im sure there's always the last resort of "albularyo" or "manghihilot".......... it's hard to believe now coz maybe i really haven't experience it YET but who know's someday i will retrieve this thread and give you my personal experience.....
now im hearing the song, while im typing this "Faith - George Michael" .......... coz u gotta have faith..... (i'll stick to what have experience........ faith)

Okay! We were in our living room and I was sitting on the window sill, a neighbor next door was outside our front window chatting with me and my cousins. He cut our conversation and went inside their house next to ours. He spat at the plant box on his way. 5 minutes he came back holding a hanky covering his mouth and asking me if we know a medium around our neighborhood. I asked him why? He took the cover away from his mouth and showed his lips swollen with acne or pimple like pus all over his lips. I asked him if he was bitten by a bug or something or ate something, he calmly said,I think I spat on something and he got angry. 5 minutes, all it takes for his lips to sweel with pus and all. He came back after an hour like as if nothing happened and his lips restored or back to kissable state. BIZARRE! This happened to my neighbor and all my cousins saw or witnessed it, this is nothing to what I see, encounter, feel or even sense in my everyday life. When I was in grade 4, a blind nun was walking around with her congregation and shaking every kids hands, she held 1 boy's hand and said some prophecy or "hula" as to what ech kid is like and what he will be or future holds for him or her. all the folks were asking fo their turn and saying how about me, jockeying for positions to be exact. Suddenly she stop and faced me and without touching my hands said some of my obvious traits and something more, " You will go places and you will see everything" she even said that I have a mole in my eye. I didnt took it seriously being at a tender age of innocensce but did look infront of the mirror about that mole in my eye. Through the years, till nowI have experienced unbelievable things, seen them, sense them, predicted, even the paranormal that I even dream of bad things that have happen in a particular house if I will sleep there. Theres just so many and even some girls here will put a bet with her friends that if she will mention my name or just the tought of me calling her, i will call her instantly. Mamati can attest this. the last 3 years I've been thinking about the mole in my eye till I got some eye irritation and turned my right top eyelid inside out like when you want to scare kids. Guess What? ?? I have a mole, a live one as what our folks said, right in the middle of my eye. or aligned perfectly with the middle of my iris. I have seen and felt so many things, averted dangers, etc. Sometimes I can interpret it, sometimes I cant, I just wish I can use this for good. I'll show it to anyone who is curious enough once i reach there.

i believe you, ENZO. you're a strange boy parang serendipity, i was just finishing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows this morning, and here's a dialogue between Harry and Dumbledore: "Tell me one last thing," said Harry. "Is this real? Or has this been happening inside my head?" "Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that this is not real?"

Marcs, if all else fails, I'm getting you an appointment with an herbal doctor here in noodletown. There are a few good ones here with their own expertise so I need an update on your condition.
I'm just making a prediction, Chinese herbal medicine and herbology is the way to the future considering the prohibitive price western medicines are being sold here locally. It's an outrage.
In Asian cultures, the healer spends a lifetime learning and educating himself (just like western medical practitioners do). But he so much different in a particular way.
When he finally becomes a guru, guess what happens to him? His life diminishes in time because he is using up his life force to heal the sick. He does not charge an arm and a leg for his work, thus, he does not (cannot) become rich in the process.
Why would anybody want to become healers? Because that's their part of the story. The story is real, the title of the story is called The (hi)story of Mankind. That is their role. That is their gift. Gifted people who discovers their gift have a hard time denying it. But it doesn't mean they don't have to spend a lot of time and effort to realize it.
When an herbal doctor checks you up, he looks into your eyes and skin color. He sometimes checks your heartbeat and chestsounds (with a stethoscope maybe), he looks into your tongue and nose and ears. He asks you things. But sometimes... all he does is check your pulse and breathing, with his fingers.
He then scribbles a combination of herbs (with the amount indicated) on a piece of paper. What I do is write down at the back of the prescription the symptoms of the illness so I can reuse them someday (since I can't read the writings myself, I'm no healer, sorry).
Fyi, it could take days to reach your turn in a queue, by the way, if you're mighty lucky to be lining up to a very popular healer. (Don't expect to have any Marvel comics lying around for you to read while waiting, better bring your own copy).
The prescription is presented to the pharmacist who collects the needed herbs and put them in a silkbag.
The instruction is USUALLY (but may vary in some cases) like the ff: Submerge the silkbag in a pot with 2 cups of water and put to a boil until 1 cup of the liquid remains.
Drink after meal while the liquid is still very hot. Drinking it cool is not the way to do it.
Repeat on the next meal using the same silkbag. 1 bag makes 2 servings that way.
The herb liquid works 2 folds: it provides nutrition and provides cleansing of toxins.
Ask the doctor how many times (how long) the herb prescription can be used at the time. Although herbs are natural and therefore less chemically toxic than western medicine, they are no less aggressive and invasive to the human body. We don't want to overdose and go impotent, do we?
Is herbal medicine an exact science? Personally, I don't think so.
Don't expect miracles in them herbs. There's a point when it makes sense to get your xrays, scans, and images the high tech way. There's a point when surgery, radiation, invasive drugs are needed. Physical or psychiatric therapies even!
Always proceed experimentation with our own bodies with caution. Treat yourself lots of T-L-C (tender loving care, not tomato, lettuce and cheese)!
P.S. On second thought, fresh real tomatoes, lettuce and cheese is good food!

di ako oy! i don't own a gore-tex jacket! i don't believe you need one here in pinas! heheheheh.... it's a hovering story at trek shop in quirino.... I have them! and even wears them if I go hit the outhouse whenever I climbed here. Sa pinas, a locally tailored dry-quik tshirts would do just fine and trek pants ok na. Going back to the topic.... I believe! . There's no harm on trying Marcs, my Nanay's recurring allergy was cured this way, she was brought when she was just a child, the chant stuck on her head that even if she jokes around with the kids she blurts out this chants hehehe. But if it demands human sacrifice, you can talk to Max about this.

wow, super OT hahahaha but I have reading all of this. am feeling better now, can walk again, but still the root cause is not estalished so am seeing another doctor. yes I tried hilot (with all the prayers and stuff) and it was super duper painful. A couple of days after though I was gradually able to walk. Was it the hilot? Can't really say for sure. Could be I was really recovering already that week. Manghihilot said it was "lamig" daw (naku, another hot topic hehehe). So I just went and bought a water heater Seriously, maybe there's something about taking cold showers which affects muscles? Anyway, I'm just glad I'm back on my feet. I felt like an old man, not being able to move much from the bed. I hope I can be back in the saddle in a week or two, but I think i'll just be doing laps in UP. Thanks for all the well-wishes!
