Hello Mates, ;D I just had a session with a consultant and I might be doing some operation in my body. I am overweight and I need to lose weight in 5-6 months in order to get my right BMI. ;D Whats the purpose of this thread?- I made this thread for the people who are planning to commit for their own that they will go out ride their bike for 30 mins to 1 hr. @ ave. 27kph. - this will also serve as an attendance. Their are 7 days in a week. So exercise attendance is like this... ATTENDANCECodings will be Smile = Present, Sad = Havent ridden this dayTo ensure a better achievement... Lets have an accountability partner... My exercise will start this Monday. So anybody wants to join this e-accountability?

Monday Tuesday Wednesday ... let's see OT: Allegra, what brand was that shake/powdered meal thing that you were talking about quite some time ago? The thing that cost around P50 and was a complete meal?

ave: 27kph on mtb for 0.5 to 1 hr., man you'll really lose when doing that. but IMHO and with due respect to overwieght peepz, i doubt if somebody trying to attain a right BMI can pedal 0.5 to 1 hr. at an ave. speed of 27kph. but i might be wrong hope you can keep us updated on this program

If you want to AVERAGE 27km/hr, you have to be hitting 30-35km/hr speed and never going below 25km/hr. This is HARD on a MTB with knobby tires. The best I've done on a 1hr run is to average 28km/hr in QC circle but that was riding with a peleton of roadies and I was totally spent after that. I did better with 1" SLICKS hitting an average of 32.7km/hr. I suggest you take it easy and try maintaining a more realistic target of 20km/hr AVERAGE and then stepping up with 30 second intervals to increase your endurance and strength. Eventually, you will build up to the 27km/hr in about a few months. Me? It took me 4 years!!! But I did lose 30lbs along the way and increased my cardio levels from a resting heart rate of 90 to a very healthy 64Bps now. Good luck on your quest to a healthier life!!!

As much as I'd like to exercise everyday, I think that rest periods are also important. We don't want to burn our selves out. I ride for at least one hour at least three times a week. All these rides are 3 km flats followed by uphills, descents, then 3 kms flats again, plus a few minutes to cool down. I don't have an HRM yet to measure what zone I'm in, but I what I've found is that I've , developed strength and power but endurance has not developed at the same pace. So I guess much of my workout has been anaerobic at around zone 3. I'm trying to find ways to squeeze in at least two (aerobic) zone 2 workouts a week, probably brisk walking, but not successful yet. In these 1 & 1/2 months I've been biking, I've only managed to lose 3 lbs. I think it's because I gained muscle mass on my legs. And, of course, my favorite excuse, I have big bones But again, remember to rest. You need time to recover. Just don't over eat while you're resting. The beer is a good idea. Vitamaneous and mineralous, plus it'll rehydrate you somewhat!

I'm not really trying to lose weight , I'm training for a triathlon sa May hehe I have 2 rest days every week or unless skeds dont permit or stayed up too late , I just skip training. Mas important ang goodtime No set program , kung ano lang trip gawin HRM's are for nerds hehe but effective nga Get a trainer , mas effective and you can ride kahit gabi , which is how I found out maputi pala ako dati. But having used both , I realized they took the fun out of riding bicycles and lalo lang ako tinatamad Watch what you eat Stay away from fats, sugar and refined carbs and wild sex You'll be very slim and healthy and also very dull ps - a friend of mine lost around 20lbs in 2 1/2 days He and a few of our buddies rode bikes from monumento to laoag w/c is amazing because the farthest they've ever rode before was Los Banos to Sta rosa Powered by Herbalife of course
