I used to read it only on papers that there is an outbreak of dengue.I hav'nt given much attention to it.Until a 10 year old nephew of mine was struck down by this mosquito.
My nephew is still in hopital for 9 days today and hopefully he'll be out tommorrow or the day after.Last week end was the peak of his sickness, eventhough he was tranfused with 8 units of platelet.his platelet count still drop to a critical level of 17 thousand (normal is 140k to 450k). We were starting to get worried last saturday, along with the drop on his platelet,he is also having difficulty in breathing and having pain all over his body.
I can tell you this infection is no joke,I was also a victim to these more 10 years ago.
As a mtbiker and nature lover we must take extra precaution these days whenever we are on the trail.Make all necesarry measure like putting Off lotion, wear long sleeves etc.to protect ourselves.
lovingly yours,
Helen bola ;D

If you catch dengue on the trail, it means you're resting too much.
