Redbull X 2 before the ride then just water during the ride.I bring "kiamoy" just in case i need to replenish depleted sodium in my system.

me? Beer the night before the right just enough to give you a good night rest. then hydrate like hell during the ride. Ideal for DH or Freeride.
Warning: Not recomendable for XC rides.

hahaha!! offsetting huh? alcohol relaxes but dehydrates thus hydration comes in during the actual ride eh? not too much alcohol though, you might wake up late.. and not make it sa meeting time..

best after ride rehydration? light beer! hehehe. imagine drinking a tall glass of icy beer after a long hot day of riding. makes you think about skipping that bath and going straight to bed.

beer's good naman, drink a moderate amount and it gives u nutrition same as eating a quarter pounder hamburger about hydration naman (dehins na beer ha), better daw na frequent small gulps rather than occassional big gulps, as what ive read thru an article. energy drinks add extra boost, being water and carbo as the base nutrition a bottle of "ade" before a ride works for me, but as its effect wears off, like 2 hours road ride for me, i consume more water. dun lang uli ako nag-a"ade". havent tried berocca. subok ko next time thanks sa inputs

alcohol dehydrates a lot. just want to emphasize that after a ride, or any physical activity, take in lots of protein, with milk, LEAN meats and the powerbar recovery mix suggested earlier. there's this 3-hour "window" after the ride wherein your body absorbs protein the most effectively. build muscles yeah

Is it bad to take extra joss before a ride?
I started indoor spinning (fitness first) last month and i've been taking extra joss before my my class. Would there be a long term effect on my health?

i used to take extra joss when playing badminton with my kids. sometime last year, i heard from a fellow mtbiker who is part of a support staff of one PBL team when they found-out (from what source he didn't mention) that extra joss causes some residue to accumulate in the liver and may not be healthful in the long run. disclaimer : this is not based on any factual evidence ;D Is it bad to take extra joss before a ride? take your daily vitamins and calcium
& Just take water with some sweet juice for flavor during rides
Eat at every rest stop
