We're all gonna die anyway My aunt died of lung cancer , dehins naman siya nag smoke I dont smoke , but if lungs could take it , I'll probably be smoking again You eat, you die. You don't eat, you die. Replace "eat" with "smoke". Heck, what's the point? ;D ;D ;D coz I look cool when I smoke ;D FYI, vip rooms at ktvs can be smoke free if so requested Nga lang , they can be more expensive than chemo therapy Havent experienced it first hand though , naikwento lang naman sakin ng ibang classic members bwahaha nandamay pa Just kidding , I read it in the newspaper

i repeat: you can't be serious.... ;D Let the smokers beware... I don't know the gravity of my concerns are... But hey... it's not my lungs when you're smoking em... Just to be safe, I have an industrial-type-hospital-grade Air purifier at home. I don't want em airborne particles polluting my home theater system! No thanks!

GADGETS brad, you're preaching to the converted ;D by the way, my marine science teacher said the way smokers pollute the environment is not through the smoke itself (can't compete with motorized vehicles, factories, CFC-spewing appliances and hairsprays in that regard) but through the cig butts. every year during worldwide Coastal Cleanups, when they tally the trash that get picked up from our oceans and shores, cig butts are among those on top of the list. the reason is simple: butts are too small for many people to bother with. it's easy to flick them everywhere. it seems like a huge bother to sweep them from the ground so people just leave them there. now cig butts are very light, they get carried by rainwater, into drainage systems, and eventually into the sea. THAT's my biggest guilt as a smoker, environment-wise.

I'm quitting (someday)!
Right now, I still enjoy lighting it up after a hard climb. I know, everyone tells me "your lungs are open, brad!"

That's a wonderful explanation! Now, guys! If you can postpone smoking in the presence of people who are allergic to smoke, stay away from non-smoking areas while smoking, dispose off cigarette butts properly, then we'll be on our way to saving the world (environmentally speaking)! Think Nemo and The Little Mermaid!

Basic needs first! Ex. Priorities for men could be: Sports cars, Sports equipments, Nightlife, Audio-Video system, Computer and electronic gadgets of course! And... Eyewear, I guess... Priorities for women could be: Clothing, Home interior decors, Bags, Make-up. And don't forget Shopping. There there are the luxuries like: Food, Medicine, Education, and Hobbies like smoking, gambling, Russian roulette, Firearms, Drugs and what-nots!

i used to since i was 14 years old, not that a heavy smoker though, average of at least 10 sticks/day. but when me and my friends did the wawa-maarat (reverse) last march 2006, (just started biking then), it felt like i was going to faint and my lungs was going to explode. so, i just quit smoking. thanks to mtbiking!

Used to smoke around 15 sticks a day (or more on a bad day) - this is controlled already. Quit cold turkey almost a year ago because of my son (8 months old then).
I got myself to quit smoking with the help of Fisherman's Friend. Whenever I get the craving, i popped one or two and by the time I'm finished with them, craving's almost always not there anymore. After a few weeks of that, I found that I didn't even crave lighting up anymore. That's when I knew I've finally successfully quit (after 8 long years).
Sometimes I find myself smoking in dreams though...

Just think about global warming. There are actual countries (Tuvalu to name one) that are in danger of sinking due to the rising of water levels.
Guys, you might want to see a documentary by Al Gore on global warming called "The Inconvinient Truth" and hope it will make us think twice about the hazards we inflict on earth.

When I bike, I don't feel like smoking. I smoke as little as three cigarettes a day on the days I train or go to the trails. But when I don't bike, I smoke up to 10 cigarettes a day.
Anyway, this is a far cry from late last year, I was smoking a pack a day. Even when I was actively a mountaineer, I smoked a lot. I was strong enough to be the sweeper on most climbs. I was pumping 225 lbs on my 5th set of bench press. Lighting a cigarette at each peak was sort of a tradition for me.
But then I realized, I could be much stronger if I didn't smoke. So I gradually quit.
But then I got married and got a job. Started smoking a lot again. Stopped climbing, stopped working out. Was living on cigarettes and coffee for years.
Then, recently, I bought my wife a bike to help her lose the weight she gained during her pregnancy with our last son. After two weeks, I bought myself a bike. And now, less than a month later, less coffee, less cigarettes, more green tea and more biking. I'm getting there... slowly but surely. Will give Fisherman's Friend a shot.

I'm smoke-free for almost 10 years now. I decided to quit in 1997 one year before I get married (1998). I realized that I can buy more mountaineering and rock climbing gear with the the money I was spending to buy 'yosi'. Saksakan nang mahal kasi yosi dito sa HK.

just recently i made an attemp...i managed 11 days without a single puff then i got sick...geez! there must be something terribly wrong with me. i dont know if its too late to stop. i heard that if you're a smoker for quite sometime (especially when you're still smoking in your 50's or 60's) and you decide to stop smoking, you might get cancer anyways like in 5 years. one proof was my uncle. he stopped smoking and got lung cancer after 3 years anyways. the doctors said that if he kept smoking he might have lived longer. but he'll still die of lung cancer as well they said. im not saying that you dont stop. i guess if you're going to stop, do it while its not too late. but you have to do it gradually, not suddenly. especially if you smoke like at least half a pack in a day. do it gradually. like take a stick after lunch time at least, hehe ;D and then dont smoke for the rest of the day. i think it works that way, as what i've heard.

was a social smoker since i was in college. i smoke when i am tense or angry or heart broken or when i go out...
but ever since my mom was diagnosed with cervical cancer (august 2006), i quit. i thought it will be my own version of 'communion of saints.'
i believe it is a mind game too. likewise i respect smokers and non-smokers, it is a preference after all ;D

Quit smoking, cold turkey march 2005 when I decided I wanted to improve my cycling abilities. One of a few good things cycling has done for me.

i used to it.. 10 years my lungs are so f :-Xked up... ive been sick many times... cant barely run 2 k straight... im in the band pa... drummer. ive done so many diversions on how to quit smoking... but then something came up... i bought a nokia n-gage (cellfone/game deck) ... instead of smoking i focused my self on playing video games on the n-gage... ive done that for 3 months... now, ive proven my self that i can resist the hunger... some said that "the hunger, thirst always win"... well, the hell with them! nothings imposible if you always try to avoid such evil... pray for it always...

I used to smoke... I smoked about a pack a day for 20 years!
I think I can still imagine how it feels....and honestly, it felt good to smoke. That's how bad things usually are, di ba?
I stopped cold turkey 3 years ago. My reason: FAMILY....
never felt better... and looked better, too ( i have witnesses ).
