I don't let my hands wash with water after a day of long encoding. I have observe that my hands and fingers get little shakey or quake. What I do take a little rest before I wash them. Someone suggest, get a pale half full of warm water and put salt on it then "ibabad ang mga kamay" for a few minutes. This will remove the shake. I guess this more hygienic way rather pissing your hands. ;D after a full days worth of encoding and banging on the keyboard.... you are more prone to develop carpal tunnel syndrom.... that is a painful one... and i forgot to include that in the diseases that "pasma" emulates ;D make sure you got the proper wrist support and if you are a real heavy duty typist... try getting one of those newer ergonomic keyboards.... else your biking would suffer from stiff wrists

It is a disease that happens when someone is hungry and greets another person that is (but not always) hungry too. The result is often severe LBM and/or severe vomiting. Another symptom is having one cold and another warm earlobe. The degree of this disease depends on the "power" of the person. If the person has a high Balis power then this can cause death The only remedy is to wipe the saliva of the one who gave the Balis on the affected person's tummy. ( sheeet its so gra-beh to explain !!!) ;D

pardon me for digging this up from the pile. kinda relevant for me right now, three of my fingers still not in its 100% functions after a ride a week ago, the thumb, middle finger and ring finger(?) of my right hand. some of my friends told me its pasma that i should soak it in warm water with salt but i suspect i crushed some nerves in my palm due to pressure from the handgrip. i cannot even use my thumb with index finger to pinch. have you experienced this before? is it natural and temporary? what have you done then to recover?
by the way pasma i think (just correct me if i am wrong) is spasm, involuntary spasms or shakings.

Only in the Philippines may PASMA. Why do athletes take a long shower after a gruelling sports actiity? DO THEY GET PASMA?
Actually, you are sweating because your pores are open. To stop PASMA, take a warm shower to fully open the pores and let all the sweat or toxins out of your sytem. After a warm shower, close the pores with a cold or normal temperature shower. This closes the pores and stops the sweating.
so, hot or warm shower, then cold or normal shower. Tapos ang PASMA.

I let my body cool down before taking a bath, say 1hr at least. same here. i know a lot of people say there is no such thing and there isn't even an english word for pasma (is there?) but i just keep in mind that a sudden change in body temperature (from hot to cold) isn't good. i guess to each his own in this case.

the wife of my boss find it difficult to walk. she is middle-aged. she said when she was younger she used to walk barefooted on tiled floor after removing her shoes at the end of the day. is this related to pasma (if there's such a thing)? any medical explanation?

I think this is related to aging and poor health you can't really make a connection between walking barefooted in the past and having any kind of difficulty later in life, although sometimes it's difficult to walk barefoot.

this is what took place.. i explained to the doctor about the condition of my hand and explained what happened and he subjected me into therapy. i asked him how to determine if its arthritis and if this is the case with me and he answered in the negative. i was told that it is due to inflammation of the tendons. the therapy goes like this... there was this container looking like a deep frier that is filled with... guess what, right!......liquid that looked like oil and it was not only warm as i initially felt when i first try feeling it with a finger, but hot although not enough to scald you it was hot just the same. i was later told and discovered that the liquid is melted paraffin wax.
i was instructed to dip my whole hand deep above the wrist, palm down for 10 times, at the first two tries it was nothin, but on the succeeding, i was kinda literary stumping my foot on the floor...

in each time i dip my hand the pain is getting too much and i was saying "f-ck, d@mn it, the feeling was that it seems my nails will fall off then at the last time i pull my hand out of the deep fryer i saw there is already a solidifying wax all over my hand and this was wrapped with plastic and towel. and i was made to sit and instructed to wait for 20minutes so the wax would solidify. while sitting there the lady personnel asked me if i want a magazine to read i said no thank you and thereafter asked again what i want ... so i told her.... i ...want.... to.... cry...... ;D ;D ;D ;D 5 more sessions of this therapy ... arrrgh...

Is this the treatment for inflamed tendons or tendinitis? I thought its ice or cold compressed to reduce the swelling and pain. Not unless you have arthritis maybe that's what the doc is trying to rule out.
Maybe this is not a good therapy for you, because it gave you more pain. Why not try other remedies perhaps their more cheaper pa no. Just my toughts brad hope this helps.

hehe, sir arci. i'm not yet convinced.
it's easy to say that the condition doesn't exist. but maybe if we dig up on the history of the word "pasma" maybe we can learn some traditional/ancient knowledge that we have forgotten for a long time. i don't believe that the word was invented just like that and came into common use without proper reasoning. etymologists would agree that any popular word that continues to exist has some significance in society.
just thinking out loud.s

brad what kind of doctor did you go to for this treatment? TIA. its not quack if thats what youre thinking ;D, it s a rehab doctor and those attending to me are PTs. the problem has something to do with the nerves at the middle of my palm, i must have leaned to them harder and longer than should be. thats why theyre rehabilitating them.
