Good day,
Mga Sir/Maam newbie question po from a noobrider. Planning to change po Wheelset sa Build bike na nabili ko, after almost a year of riding kc pudpod na ang Tire nya and medyo may naririnig na din ako na tunog sa Rear hub ko.
1.) First question po, sa Tire ano po pagkakaiba nung Maxxis Ardent na my skinwall at dehins skinwall (bukod dun sa skinwall sa gilid nya) any advantage po ng skinwall? note: will be using this tire po mostly sa Road and some off road ride, ok po yung tire of choice ko? Any other suggestion po?
Anlayo kasi ng Price range yung M615 is nasa Php. 3,000 po while M8000 nasa Php. 5,000. Any other suggestion po na hubs?

sa question 2 mo. yung M615 is Deore, NOT Deore XT. magkaibang series yan.
Deore = M615 Deore XT = M8000
If you're into performance/racing, then definitely get the higher end hub.

gumwall tires probably have weak resistance to ultraviolet. me personally i stay away from them
as for shimano hubs you get diminishing returns as you go higher up. deore level hubs are more than good enough. anthrax is right even the low-end shimano hubs are super durable especially the ratcheting mechanism. but deore hubs have better bearings than the low-end shimano hubs

I would stay away from Shimano hubs and get Novatec instead, engagement is better and bearings are sealed. Cup and cone setups are great in dry areas but not in the rainy typhoon paradise of the Philippines.

I haven't heard of skinwall and gumwall tires since our bmx days over 30 years ago but did see some in mtb tires when we were starting mid to late 90s. Skinwalls, to my understanding, are those nylon/rubber combo on the tire's sidewall - supposedly to keep tires lighter for racing or the weight weenies in us. I don't recall seeing much over the years so thought they were discontinued for MTB or durability and weight were issues.
Don't know much about hubs though..
