So...I have been liking drinking coffee. Unfortunately my source in Suki market has not been selling coffee beans for quite sometime now. I do my best to support the local industry and I never really liked fancy coffee shops that sell overpriced milk and sugar with coffee.
anyway, any leads where I can get coffee beans? I have already been pointed to a place in Binondo which I plan to visit soon.

i have to agree with spyghost. once you've tasted freshly brewed (drip or french press), you'll never go back to instant. i only drink black coffee for the past 2 years now.

anthrax76 , 18650 might be referring to the process itself of brewing - grinding, boiling water, steeping, not to mention, the cleanup all of which i must say is 'a lot' of extra overhead just to drink a fresh brew of coffee. i must admit, i sometimes find myself lazy to do it, but if you're into it you'll just do it anyway lol. From a cost perspective, instant is cheaper than home made brewed, but both a far cheaper than buying a brewed cup say SB, CBTL, etc. I'm not from DK, but I have to admit among the cheaper brewed coffees out there, DK is good. When it comes to beans, I despise grocery beans - they don't taste good. I'd go for native northern beans (cordi, sagada) than south (ie batangas). I find northern beans better in terms of scent and taste and less acidic. So far the only southern beans I liked came from Bag of Beans. As for grinders, i have the electric spice grinder which "does the job". however, that the manual burr grinder in a wooden housing yields far better results in terms of consistency of grind and effectively, better taste.

spyghost, you're right, it does actually take a lot of cleanup ha ha ha. i find zen in cleaning up equipment though, so it's okay for me. i also use the grinds as fertilizer. and yeah, i find local beans better. there's this brand from Japan that I forgot which tastes good too. but beans from our groceries here are not so good. probably got roasted quite some time ago.

I get my coffee from Fresh Batch Coffee Company (look it up in Facebook), they roast the beans fresh upon order and delivery it to your home. A little bit pricey though, but worth it. They both have local beans as well as imported ones. You could buy the beans whole or already grounded if you don't want the hassle of grinding them.
Preparing coffee doesn't have to be messy though. I use Aeropress and it's so easy to clean and use. I will never go back to instant coffee. Wala pang preservatives and fake ingredients.
Instant natural caffeine boost bago magbike!😊

Yup coffee beans in Groceries usually suck, because usually they're stocked up there for months at a time. The best grocery coffee beans I've tried so far is the Kickstarter brand (Arabica). The roasting date is stamped at the bottom so you know when it's just freshly delivered. Lucky if you get to get them just delivered within the week. Sa Robinson's Supermarket ko nakita. I'm jot sure on other Supermarkets
