"Chariots of Fire" meets "Rocky" meets "Shine" - on wheels!. From a humble background in Ayrshire, Scotland, Graeme Obree (Jonny Lee Miller) always had to fight for survival. As a grown man, nothing had changed. When his beloved bicycle shop went bust, Graeme had neither the money nor the sponsorship necessary to realize his dream; to compete at the highest level of world cycling. But it was always clear from his complete passion for the sport and his many local wins that he was destined for greatness. With the unwavering support of his wife Anne (Laura Fraser) - despite the fact that they had recently had their first baby - and the help of his close friend and newly-appointed manager Malky (Billy Boyd), he persevered. With the use of the work shop (and occasional mentoring) of a friendly and peaceful minister, Baxter (Brian Cox) - and of course his racing bike 'Old Faithful' - Graeme was finally on his way to the Hamar Velodrome in Norway and the chance to go for the prestigious World Hour Record. Cast: Jonny Lee Miller, Brian Cox, Billy Boyd Director: Jonny Lee Miller, Brian Cox, Billy Boyd Genre:Sports Drama Language: English Release Date:28 June 2007 Running Time:98 minutes Seems this movie is sponsored by Specialized should be by SCOTTS ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

i remember him saw at (discovery channel?), he's the one who develop the superman seat grab, heheh joke
the superman style of riding (forearms in front) and the tuck in position (forearms tuck in),
which broke speed records in the velodrome that time.
he sells the hadlebars he developed for this position
but eventualy the UCI bans the position because it was dangerous?

i missed this movie? was it shown here? dang! i read his story/interview in a bike mag a couple of years ago and man is he a superman!(he invented the riding style which the UCI banned for being dangerous? on a velodrome? c'mon, trying to beat the hour record is dangerous in itself) he invented a prior riding style he called the mantis or something which i think the UCI also banned. man this guy is great! he built his bike himself with some parts coming from his mothers washing machine and he raced and won a lot of races on it. it's a bummer i missed this movie.
