I heard some roadies say this, "compact cranks are for wimps." Do you agree?
Also, would triple cranks be "wimpier" than compact cranks?

I heard some roadies say this, "compact cranks are for wimps." Do you agree? Also, would triple cranks be "wimpier" than compact cranks? I disagree. Those bikers saying that, are the wimps. They dont know what are they talking about. Dont believe what they say, Believe your capability. Compact/triple crank will help you for long rides and on the climb. I dont have compact or triple but planning to change my cassette from 12-25 to 12 -27 for climbing.

i think Tyler Hamilton used a compact at the 2003 Tour de France where he won a mountain stage..dont believe some roadies....they luv to talk the talk

compact or not, it doesn't matter.It's all depends on the rider.
