I've been using the specialized mondo 23 x 700c tires and it close to worn already.
What are your suggestions? I was thinking of the Michelin Pro Race or the Continental GP4000. Except I can't get over the fact that its more expensive than my car's tires!

I really, really like the Michelin Pro Race. They were my tire of choice for 2 years. Lightweight, supple, great handling even in wet, they're the perfect road tire -- except for the fact that they're freaking expensive!
These days I just ride the cheap P300 tires for training.
Warning: the Pro Race comes with a strange waxy coating when new, which is slippery on wet concrete or smooth asphalt. It takes a while to wear off.

I'm using vittoria rubino pro slicks. They have a large margin for error. Low rolling resistance and good cornering.

kenda calientes i think. i rally like those specialized mondo pros though. they were cheap and pretty light, but scary when the road gets really wet. i still have them on my bike although they should be changed soon. i lent my bike to a friend of mine competing in the white rock triathlon so i hope he upgrades them for me hehe.

Much better than the vittorias. They even have lower rolling resistance. But I also replaced my wheels, so it could be the wheels. But I have lost 5 lbs in 2 weeks since my doc told me to go on a fish diet due to my high cholesterol. So I'm not sure if it's the tires, the wheels, or my weight. This may have been a useless posting afterall.

Incidentally, I did follow your advise and bought Kenda Caliente's. Used it in the Clark Race and all my training rides leading to it. She's holding out very well. (I haven't tried the Michelin Pro II pa kasi) It is actually much slimmer than the Mondos and lighter. But I haven't really tried in the wet though.

i just got a set of vittoria racing slicks to replace my mondos because i found out that i accidentally slashed the sidewall on one of the mondos. the vittorias came of a built bike so they were cheap. i'll check what the exact model is later. i should another set of everyday tires though. anyone know what's available at john wilkie? they always have some cheap folding tires in stock.
