what! so many people are going the way of the road (less travelled) ha. get a yellow jersey na rin and post a pic here heheh ;D Perhaps as arci puts it above, it's best not to label yourself as roadie, mtb, etc . . . I think at the end of the day, we are all cyclists enjyoing different facets of the sport. And isn't that what makes the sport so much fun? And that's what it's all about naman . . . whether you get your thrills bombing down the tagaytay trails . . . or getting your lactic acid high by hitting The Wall in under 10 mins, to doing those relaxed century rides in country backroads, to jumping 10ft in the air . . . it's just you, the bike, and the trails.

amen to that sir! and if i may add: at the end of the day it's just you, your bike and the enjoyment you have had riding the trail, burning the road or bombing down the downhill (if you wish). just do it and enjoy ;D ;D Perhaps as arci puts it above, it's best not to label yourself as roadie, mtb, etc . . . hehe i wonder if they're pissed off that a former mountain biker won the tdf? its just shows to roadies the "humbling" reality that cycling is cycling and that it transcends whatever cycling discipline you are in. remember the sobrang gasgas na, na kasabihan: its not the bike......its the biker ;D ;D but again, in fairness to the roadies, i'm also a member of a roadies forum and it seems a majority of them naman still have their feet on the ground (or nasa pedal, if you wish). perhaps those airhead roadies are just the exception to the rules. peace to the roadies. MABUHAY AND MGA ROADIES!!!!! ;D ;D

hehe! marcs, huwag naman...its not really my intension to race with anyone be it on trail or road...like what peeps who ride with me know i treat my every ride as training ride wala akong ibang panahon eh...i use the guy in front of me as a gauge to evaluate my performance...some sort of target hehe! di naman siguro masama yun. ...and no, i dont get a kick out of doing that..hmm..i think i heard someone said liar hehe! as for the snobs...based on my experience, they're everywhere... trail and road pareho lang..pero laging mas maraming mababait. yung naman mtb vs road ekek...i think some roadies just dont understand..minsan masyado makitid utak...whenever they see a mtbiker on the road using their knobbies with all the pambundok/offroad getup they sort of laugh at you...poser ka agad..they dont realize that we sometimes ride from house to and fro the trailhead and that we also do road rides occasionally...some i believe dont even know we actually do trail rides and that our urban/dh/fr brothers jump their bikes...ka-ta-nga-han lang..sorry for the word but thats what i think. hey king, you should see how i stare now...almost perfect na konti na lang hehehe!

'butil-butil na pawis ng dugo' as per master tolits.... hehehe.... ;D hirap nun ah!!!!

"History of the Polka Dot Jersey in the Tour de France
The Tour organizers did not begin recognizing the top climbers until the King of the Mountains classification was first calculated in 1933. Spaniard Vicente Trueba was the 1st winner. In 1934, it became an official category and the prize was awarded to Framce's Rene Vietto. It wasn't until 1975 that Polka Dot Jersey was created and awarded. The sponsor was chocolate maker Poulain, whose wrappers were polka dot. "
