gosh, i really feel like an alien. the 52cm thing doesnt ring a bell. sorry for my ignorance. is there a site where i can learn these things in a jiffy? forums? Roadbikereview and Bikeforums: forums.roadbikereview.com/www.bikeforums.net/Both forums have had LOTS of threads on proper bike fit, so do a seach. You can also go to sites with online fitting calculators like Competitivecyclist (http://www.competitivecyclist.com/). thanks woofers and king. i'll do research on my own and later on ask a couple if need be.

lenard, i was able to get the lemond book as well. it cost me a bit more though- P150! lemond was my idol. i remember watching a tape of the TdF when he passed caught Fignon on the ITT, ultimately beating him that year. that was the year he went aero. everyone did after that. the book's around 20 yrs old but most of the training tips are still current.

He was a domestique (sp?) and gave up a win to hinault, his team leader. that win gave hinault 5 consecutive. king - you're right I'd forgotten about that, he did ushered in the technology era with the aero stuff. what a great finish. lance just took technology to another level with the backing of Nike(man, are we old timers, or what?) sorry OT
