Saint is Shimano's DH groupset, it will stand up to abuse. AFAIK it's got replaceable pins too. Just be sure to be careful or wear shin guards, as it can bite into your shins in case you misstep on the pedals.

The only negative comment that I've seen is the availability of replacement bearings (and the performance after repacking) and that it's too heavy (for some). It's a US review though, so I'm not so sure if it applies.

highly recommended. super easy pa mag "repack" ng grease. just squirt it in. reassemble. the old grease squirts out
if you regularly re-grease it should last a very long time so don't worry about replacement bearings

For some reason i got bad experience with this pedal, back when i was still using flats, after few months of abuse in my local trail this pedal developed ticking sound, i serviced and repacked but Also only lasted a couple of months, same experience with my other riding buddies.

yea, i did hear/read a few stories about saint pedals knocking/ticking. perhaps just bad luck from a poor batch from the factory.

Just in case OP decides to pull the trigger on Saint, how's the warranty service for Shimano stuff here in the PH?

I am using Shimano Saint for more than a year. The ticking sound is the only problem I experienced.
It is caused by not properly aligned mounting the pedals on the crank arm. I just remount it and the sounds are gone.

Just in case OP decides to pull the trigger on Saint, how's the warranty service for Shimano stuff here in the PH? Comet cycles and Newton are the local distributors of Shimano. I suggest getting from them directly. I haven't tried claiming warranty from Shimano so far.

I'll definitely check them out.

I've had a pair for years now.
Solid and trouble-free.
