will definitely go for the local frames than on bootlegs! parang sa backpacks, i'll pick the Sandugo over the fake/copy TNF. weeel, kumusta? nakapili ka na ng frame? malapit na summer... baka tumaas price ng mga bike components!

'di ko na nga alam kung kailan maganda bumili eh. sa drivetrain dati kapag last quarter of the year, or kapag nag-roll out na sa market yung next year's model, biglang baba ng presyo ng last year.
pero sa ibang components like frame and fork..no idea.

dito pag previous year's model binababaan na ang presyo. sampol: 2016 Giant Trance 2 is $3,000 na lang while the 2017 model is $3,300 tapos me further discount pa lalo na pag Boxing Day (Dec26) at New Year. Kaya it pays to be aware of the prices bago dumating ang 'sale' season.

based on observation tumataas ang price kapag march, then bumababa from august onwards. you're right anthrax76, usually lower ang price ng groupset kapag lumabas yung next year's model. which i took advantage of last november, hehe! also true with the mid-level to high end frames. sa forks parang di masyado.

Dati nag post lang ako na LF ako ng frame, nagkataon na ang nabili ko eh size 19". second hand oo, pero I got the size I wanted. technically it's not what I want, pero yun ang pumasok sa tamang ETTL which i value more than seat tube length.

hmm...subukan mo ng medyo matulin sa switchback, may chance tumama sa tuhod mo yung handlebar.
or...another test eh sa long ride, kung dehins sasakit ang lower back at shoulders mo.
although a smaller frame eh mas masarap ilaro.

mukha ngang maliit yung frame size. o baka di lang maganda anggulo ng kuha? kung size 17" ang nakuha mo baka kailangan ay 19"? usually 17" is a meduim. large ka na siguro for a 5'11"

hehehe! was thinking the bike doesn't fit right or i need to adjust/replace something like a longer stem or a wider handle bar.
anyway, will check for correct alignments for now. Thanks! 😊

OT, napulot ko lang kung pano mag-check ng alignment. sorry walang graphic representation.
1) Tie the front wheelset to the downtube, make sure it's snug so it won't move. 2) Tie a string as close to the left outer edge of the handlebar, yes the grips. Let's call this point A 3) Loop/pass the string to the seatpost and let's call this spot point B 4) Tie the standing end of the string to the right outer edge of the handlebar, with the same distance to the edge as point A and let's call this point C 5) Now you'll have a triangle on the cockpit. Measure the string segments AB and BC if they're equal. Adjust the handlebar if they're not.

i'm 5'11" also and normally proportioned i.e. no abnormally long legs/arms. most 17" bikes are medium which are definitely too small for me
take note you cannot use a long stem and a setback seatpost to compensate. the bike will just suck in climbs w/ the setback seatpost, and will suck in descents w/ the long stem
i like to use 19" or 20". but there aren't any "budget" built bikes in this size. the best option is to just buy a frame in the correct size and build it up. check out the used market as well. just a few months ago i was able to snag a used KHS Alite 500 19" Large for just P1200

Here's another side to sizing using the seat tube length. I have three frames a 16" (MOB T-09), 18" (bootleg Diamondback, GT RTS3) and 19" (Schwinn Frontier) frames, but all of them have the same ETTL of 22" which is perfect for my height.
Hence, I use the ETTL more than any other measurement for the bike frame. it just kinda sucks it's a little tricky to measure if the frame is not mounted or mocked up.

hehehe... maybe you're just finding an 'excuse' to buy something? hahaha! style mo pare! hahaha! not really. as mentioned in my thread (in other section of this forum), most of the components installed in my current bike are used/pre-owned. GAS hasn't hit me yet! hehehe!
