the way i see it, matutuyo yung sealant at definitely mag mumukhang lumulutong yung tires from the inside. yung treads naman, lahat ng tires, basta exposed pare pareho effect yan.

Original plan ko po is palit ng pillar spokes at tires, then may nag-ooffer naman sakin mt65 wheelset, with race conti tires, for 9k. bka po mayt maiipayo kayo na mas bang for the buck

AFAIK, tubeless setup might actually weigh almost the same as tubed setup. Dahil kailangan ng sidewall strength the tubeless tires + weight of the sealant, halos pareho ng timbang na lang ng tubed setup. Not to mention the gummy stuffy you get.
sa PMS naman, every so often kailangan mo refill yung sealant (can't remember kung every 4 or 6 months), matutuyo yan kahit ikutin mo o dehins. It's not a one time fill up tapos hangin na lang.
Here's my take, going weight weenie on a budget, always go from the outside going in. Unahin mo ang tires, tubes, rims, nips & spokes, hubs. dehins rin ako masyado sa trail at dehins ko rin trip mag trail kapag basa, ayoko nang sirain ang trail as it is. Since nag switch ako to semi slick tires, tapos body english na lang kapag madulas or maputik, happy ako sa setup ko, fast on the road, relatively fast on dry fire roads, sacrifice a little on muddy conditions (then again, lahat naman ng nakasama ko eh sakripisyo rin dahil lumaki na ang gulong sa putik).
Check mo yung Wheels and Tires section, search for Tubeless. Maraming discussion dun regarding switching over to tubeless.

Balik tubes ako... matagal tagal din akong nakatubeless until ma flat sa trail... unang una messy ang tubeless at pain in the ass i seat yung bead, gumagamit pako ng CO2. Pangalawa pag na flat-an lalo na kung nag burp at ayaw ma seal ng sealant, no choice ka kundi lagyan ng tubes.... kakatamad ng ulitin ang proseso para itubeless ulit....so yeah ayaw ko ng mag tubeless not worth the effort at not to mention the cost, .... what im waiting for though e yung schwalbe aerothan light weight tubes.ππππ ---weekend trail poser here 95% of the time πππ

im bias on this..... 50 - 50 ika nga...
definitely I will use Tubeless on a race..... and use tube on my commuting and other riding......
but true mahal ang tubeless... messy at tricky and pag install, not all can do it... plus it needs gradual and schedule maintenance kahit walang issue at sira...

i'm using tubes w/ a double-dose of Slime tube sealant. i don't even remember the last time i had a flat. so no tubeless for me coz i also change tires often depending on the trail conditions i'll be riding on

depends on what riding you do. if you run high pressures in an mtb, then tubeless may not be right for you - yes some run high pressures like blake samson (freeride/dj/dh). dh'ers prefer tubes also, but some do use tubeless. if you run low pressures or want to run to a bit lower than usual, then you can give it a try and see if you like it. from a hassle POV, yes tubeless is a hassle if you change tires frequently and the sealant messy no matter how careful you handle it specially when dismounting. also, i find tubeless setup on the high maintenance side - you need a specific rim/tire combination, 'proper tape', and sealant as a consumable item (~ 1k php per bottle). so yea, TCO is higher for tubeless. is it worth the hassle and benefits? - depends on how you ride and where you ride. some say tubeless weight less. tbh, idc. i'm not a weight weenie and it doesn't matter for me anyway. i'm not competitive and i ride just for fun. 18650, interesting setup. i might give that a try since i don't really stick to 1 tire and tubeless sort of prohibits me from doing so (wasted sealant and possible re-taping - both contribute to additional expense). are you using a normal slime sealant found in mall hardware?

Running tubes ever since. Never tried or used tubeless. Didn't think there was much difference pero sabi nila mas ok since you can lower your tire pressure (depende sa terrain) na dehins kaya ng naka-tubes.
pwede din na mali ako. =)

medyo mabusisi ang tubeless at ang daming ka-ek-ekan hahaha! anywayz, currently running tubeless just for the reason of reducing the weight of my bike and nothing more... my continental inner tube weighs about 200g each, so by removing them and topping-up approximately 60ml of Stan's NoTubes sealant (weight: 60g) for each wheel I was able to save 140g which is 280g in total. Not much weight reduction but I'm happy that I was able to lower down the weight of my bike. weeee!!!!
