Hello guys,
Sorry for immediately posting. I've tried to read a lot from bike forums (including some posts from the FAQs), but some of my questions haven't been answered still.
Please recommend a mountain bike for me. Budget is 10k, including gear (helmet and gloves lang naman, I can set a different budget for shoes/clothing when the need REALLY arises). Kung lalampas ng konti, okay lang. I'm going to buy within 1st Qtr of 2017 and I can still save up, but I'm not willing to spend more than necessary. Ang takot ko lang is yung upgraditis ko, which has been present ever since I owned a gaming PC.
Nagpm ako sa King's Bicycle Shop sa Quiapo (I'm from VALENZUELA btw) and they have the Ryder Shark for 9k . Since they didn't give the specs("hydrulic shimano" lang reply, quoted yung spelling hehe), I looked it up online (hoping they have identical specs but saw a lot of jargon that I'm not familiar with)
Lazada:
Alloy Ryder Tapered Frame
Ryder Suspension Fork
Ryder OS Cockpit
Shimano Hydraulic brakes
Shimano Crankset
Shimano Shifter 3x7
Shimano RD & FD
Shimano Cogs
Ryder Wheelset Alloy Double Wall
Maxxis Tires
Skylark Bikes:
SPECIFICATIONS:
Frame: 27.5" x 16" Alloy
RD: Shimano Tourney (21 speed)
FD: Shimano Tourney
Brakes: Shimano Non-series BR-M355 Hydraulic Disc Brakes
Shifter: Shimano (21 speed)
Fork: Ryder Preload Steel
Stem: Ryder Steel
Handle Bar: Ryder 31.8mm Alloy
Seat post: Alloy
Crank: Shimano
Hubs: Warrior Alloy
Rims: Ryder 27.5 Pro Double Wall
Tires: Maxxis Pace 27 x 2.10"
Saddle: Velo
Gagamitin po hopefully for:
*Exercise. Medyo nag-gagain na ako e.
*Work. Kung kaya ng bike, and if mabuild up ko yung techniques and endurance I'm planning to use this instead of the daily commute. I'm from Valenzuela and I work in QC. Google map says that the walking distance (bike routes not available) is approx. 26km. I'm planning to move pero medyo malayo parin. (14km)
Eto lang po yung mga questions ko:
1. Sorry kung pasaway ako, as every thread may ganitong recommendation, but do I really need to be fitted before selecting a bike, even when it's not going to be custom built? (bookmarked the page anyway para pag pinagalitan nyo ko hehe)
2. They both have the bike in 26 and 27.5. A friend of mine, which also owns a bike, told me to get the 27.5. Most of the material that I've been reading say that 27.5ers have a lot of pros compared to 26, and yet maraming paring bikers who use 26ers. Instead of just reading, I would like to hear first-hand experience regarding 27.5er and 26er owners, so I can properly weigh the diffences.
3. I'm 5'2" (159cm) and the recommended frame size is 15", yet most frames ng mga pre-built bikes are 16" for the small size. It's the same situation with this one. Will that invite trouble?
4. Kung dehins okay yung bike na yun, anong maire-recommend po ninyo?
Biased ako towards one/two tone colors, pref. black and white, black and silver, silver and white. I've also considered folding bikes for portability. I'm trying to train my endurance and be fit again, and maybe gamitin sa mga malalayong gala so I've crossed it out.
Maraming thanks and hope to join minsan sa mga rides nyo.
