Just to facilitate the learning process_____________________________________________________ Maestro, Giant's own DW-link version, is also a four-bar link variant. If in case, here's an account from a mech'l eng'r1ng student. SourceIt doesn't pay to get so oblivious. just finished a course in dynamics of rigid bodies. learned about 4bar linkages, the instantaneous center, moment of inertia... all that neat stuff VPP, maestro, DW link, FSR (hmm.. what else) ARE ALL 4 BAR LINKAGES NO DOUBTVPPs are 4bar linkages too... just that one bar is really short (the one near the BB). and i can't seem to distinguish the difference between VPPs, maestros and DW links. ESPECIALLY maestros and DW links. eliminate chain tension? not quite. maestros and DW links rely on chain force for anti squat. oh and one more. floating BBs like the i-drive. not quite 4-bar. but i don't like floating BBs anyway Just to facilitate the learning process_____________________________________________________ Maestro, Giant's own DW-link version, is also a four-bar link variant. Staved off, peeps! Click Me: I've test ridden all these designs comparing specific braking, pedaling, and handling characteristics. The dw-Link stands out as the most advanced and integrated design ever, combining all the best performance attributes produced previously, and then a noticeable step better. DerbyDerbyAm no Maestro user anymore! Am nomadic now!

Read me! Verbatim: I've ridden so many designs and the dw-Link really stands out from the rest in rear suspension performance.

NRS gurus, what frame colors came out on specific years? I heard the yearly models are differentiated by color scheme.

I think eventually giant may return the nrs design in the future.it's just a matter of sales strategy.nrs is proven to be great in trails and sold a lot , why stop manufacture? too good so no need to change frame?

Giant stopped production of the NRS to avoid paying royalties to Renault (not sure about this though, but they were paying royalties to someone for using the NRS suspension). They just decided to create their own suspension system, thus the Maestro was born.

Conti Twister Supersonic(F) & Pro(R) (converted into tubeless) not anymore Maxxlites (my order's due a couple months, can no longer wait for those!) Coulda've saved almost 170-180 grams alone by using Maxxlites... 2. Left seat-stay pivot guard + FD Lizardskin Grunge guard (50g), Topeak Mountain morph mounting hardware (25g), where they should be, including a boatload of 3M tapes (modest estimate: 5grams). I'd rather cho0se function over form here. No more platform adapters (less 60g) & bell (less 40g) Just hope I didn't miss a thing.
