i saw a set on display at their tent.... it shifts super crisp. the bottom housing is made of aluminum so that'll be more durable than the plastic they use now. (mine broke) if only they have a derailleur that mounts on the axle like the Saint does i would be sold.

Pinkbike.com published a press release from SRAM’s Eric Schutt showing pictures of the new X.9 shifters and rear derailleur. The information is pretty humorous because it reads as though the pictures are top secret and were released without authorization. With tongue firmly planted in cheek, Schutt says “A well positioned photographer snapped some sneak peaks of some of our new X.9 gear.” There isn’t much as far as hard information goes, but it looks like the new X.9 lineup will close the gap to the X.0 lineup, which is good news for more people looking to make the jump from Shimano.

those X.0 stuff really make the XTRs seem like budget components. they are really expensive.
btw, did any of you see that X.0 RD that the MTBAction guys managed to break. not a pretty sight, and that would really hurt, given that it is so darn expensive.
this is like the shimano vs. campy thing they have for the road bikes. the campy components have carbon fiber. too bad the new XTRs seem to be a love it or hate it kind of thing when it comes to aesthetics.

quote from that broken sram "when carbon fiber breaks, it really lets loose"
sram is like the mac of the bike world, shimano is the microsoft noob question: are the low-end sram component group comparable to the low-end shimanos? price per price? which has the better value?
