maybe if you're going on an epic mudfest ride it might be ok. looks like it's tryinig to mimic the lubriation system of cars though.

It might be interesting to see the reservoir accidentally leak a drop of lubricant on the rotor while descending at ??mph.

Hi, Scottoiler here by invitation of the topic starter Onie. I am the distributor of the Scottoiler Active Fluid System- a relatively new product which has significant advantages over other available chain lubes and traditional chain maintenance methods. maybe if you're going on an epic mudfest ride it might be ok. looks like it's tryinig to mimic the lubriation system of cars though. The Active Fluid System has advantages and benefits for any kind of bike, in all conditions, but muddy conditions are one of the conditions where the system has the biggest advantage as it all but eliminates "chain suck" by flushing dirt & grit from the chain while you ride. Please have a look at a product evaluation for the Active Fluid System at www.fakawitribe.com/tribaltech/scottoiler.html. This is the first of several upcoming evaluations about the Active Fluid System online and in popular cycling magazines. In this review, our product was thoroughly tested in the harsh conditions of Malaysia, and this review does a very good job of proving the "no chain suck" benefit of this product. The system is a new design from the ground up and is actually a revised and scaled down adaptation of the Scottoiler motorycycle chain lube systems. It's not something that mimics the lubrication system of cars in any way. It might be interesting to see the reservoir accidentally leak a drop of lubricant on the rotor while descending at ??mph. The photo above is of my own actual bike. I've been running the Active Fluid System installed as shown in this photo for over a year and a half and have not experienced any sort of problems with any part of the system, much less for leakage. If leakage was a problem, I surely would have not installed the reservoir directly above the disc brake for obvious reasons. If anyone has any questions about the Scottoiler product please feel free to contact me at john@scottoilerusa.com. One more thing: I'm curious to find out where this forum community is based! (I can't seem to tell). - John

John,
Is this your brainchild? Why didn't you call it Johnoilerusa? Or maybe your middlename is Scott?
Approximately 97% of the forumers here are Filipinos. In addition to this, only about 85% of the members are in the Philippines.

I am the distributor of the Scottoiler product, not it's inventor, although I do have design input to some extent. It's actually named after it's inventor Frazer Scott. ~ John
