Just bring it to a reputable bike shop and have them check it out. There are not much available repair manuals for the RSTs that I know of unlike the other brands like Rockshox and Marzocchi that have downloadable manuals.
Try asking John of Extreme, he might know. They are located at Timog Avenue near Quezon Avenue, QC.

Hi Rad...thanks...i'd want to DIY the fork maintenance 'coz if I have to bring the thing to bike shops in manila ( I'm from laguna ), I might spend a lot for transport and fees...the fork I believe costs only 1.5K - 2K. My bike buddy told me the elastomer has to be replaced. What is this thing? Do bikeshops sell these parts for the fork maintenance? Again, many thanks

GT,
The elastomer is a rubber bushing-type within the shock body that controls the rebound of the shock (so that it does not bounce back like a pogo stick) ... damping ika nga. I think you have to ask your bike shop if they have some parts for your fork. I don't think you can rebuild the shock. That's one reason I shifted to oil bath type shock like the Marzocchi, it's easily repaired all you need are oil and o-rings.
You might actually have better luck buying a better replacement.
Good luck.

Saan kla sa Laguna, ako kasi nasa MTB capital ng Laguna, San Pedro at Biñan, Laguna. Well nagkaroon na ako ng ganyang fork and sad to say, sakit yan ng RST, for practical eason, wag mo na ipa repair, baka magastusan ka lang ng malaki, if you will spend 1200, buy na lang a new one, sure ka pa.

hi bernie...san pedro ka? share naman mga trails nyo dyan my group usually trek the trails at munti, makiling, hidden valley, sta. rosa - silang, one time sinubukan namin mag-road sta. rosa to tagaytay then baba talisay batangas then ikot tanauan, sto. tomas, and calamba. trip mo din ba mag-trail ride? As for the fork, sinubukan kong binuksan...removed the thing from the frame and removed the two screws beside the dropout. A lot of gunk sa loob. Nilinis ko lang and topped-up with engine oil. So far ok naman performance nya sa makiling kanina. But I'm planning to replace it with a much better fork...mukhang nakakatakot nung makita ko na ganun lang pala ang laman nya sa loob...my safety is just being fastened by two small screws

Kung minsan nagkakayayaan, if ever pupunta kami ng Tagaytay we used the Sta.
About your RST fork, kung gumagana pa naman, wag mo na muna i replace yan, if that is the original RST, tatagal pa naman yan. One of my MTB still using that kinda fork.
Will share more trails later, c ya!

Bernie...pre taga-sta. rosa pala ako, mga kasama ko taga-cabuyao...ngayon 5 lang kami sa group and weekend warriors lang din kami, usual ride namin sundays din but shortest na takbo namin is 50K lang pag dito sa sta. rosa-silang trail. dyan din ako dati sa southwoods pumupunta nung dehins ko pa na-try yung mag trails ;o) If your up to trailing sama ka din sa amin Sa muntinlupa nagki-kitakita kami sa TOTAL filinvest kung may ride...then we proceed sa Blairwitch trail, then bilibid, then paakyat paliparan...which I think is in cavite area na. This saturday we have a scheduled night ride sa sta. rosa-silang, cavite trail which will start 6pm. this is a 20kms dirt trail with uphill climbs and downhill on fireroads. Sama ka na ;D

Bernie...pre pag sa sta. rosa - silang loop trail kami, we meet at Jolibee, Paseo de Sta. My setup is a hardtail. Woofers....rigid?!? No way man...hirap ng rigid sa downhill...lahat ng bumps will be absorbed by your arms and elbows
