Has anyone tried a Kowa fork, specifically the 160Ss, single crown 20mm thru axle fork?
Its got a nifty travel adjust system and an air spring with rebound adjustment. Japanese workmanship looks very good, but can someone please post a review on performance and durability.

I know tony of BTC swears by it. Performs better than his lyrik according to him. I've read reports also that they beat the Marz 66rc2 hands down. Look it up at mtbr suspension forums for more info.

bans mendoza uses this same model on his shawn h3 (horst link). its actually his freeride rig. it can do anything. but then again, bans mendoza is such a superb athlete. might be the rider though, hehe. but then again, he rides hard and this fork was able to put up with bans. you've go to see what bans does on his bike, hehehe. ;D.

looking at the reviews, this fork is the 'one' fork. can go to as low as 5mm and as high as 188mm even though it says 160. has been compared to marz 888's and 66's and it seems at par or even better not to mention the weight and the price. i should get one for myself kaso low on budget. the only downside that i see is it doesnt feature a quick release system for the wheel. nowadays, fox, rock shox and marzocchi made life easier becoz of this, hehe. i specially need this becoz i love getting flats, hehehe ;D. and i also dont have a bike rack, kalas lagi front tires. kainis.

In today's AM/FR/DJ/DH standards, a tru axle fork is a must if you want to have a stiff front... 20mm rules ;D.

So far the Kowa sounds like a good deal. The only thing thats holding me back is the lack of compression adjust and the fact that its a new name in the philippines. Oh, btw, the site says it uses the boxxer caliper mount. Upon inspection, it looks like a normal IS mount.
