More and more wants to install the bonjumper's jockey wheels on his MTbikes... I prepared the cookies to everyone... The first bike with the jockey wheels installed... Try it while supply last... hey that's my dirty bike hehehe ;D anyway didnt post a review first since i was experiencing frequent ghost/delayed shifting after it was installed - even on roads. this did not happen with the shimano pulleys. the source of the problem was a slightly bent derailleur hanger which was probably magnified by the jockey wheel which had very little side to side play. had it bent back to shape and voila! crisp shifting. rode it in maarat last saturday and wawa on sunday.

Bong,
The Bong wheels has its debut at reverse palace last sunday. I felt some improvement on the shifting and easy rolling. Compared to the 1.5 years OLD wheels of my 07 XTR.
Thanks

Guys, heres another review but this time it was installed on my road bike. I'm using a 9 speed Ultegra RD.
Compatibilty: Fits wells on as per Dandan of alterra Shifting: I felt the improvement no need to upgrade to Dura Ace, (prang dura ace shifting na!) Price: Cheap, compared to KCNC and FSA. I was at Ross and i saw this pulley's(KCNC & FSA) which is being installed to a Giant bike, then i ask "magkano yan?" Jimmy replied, 1500. So i txted Bong i'l get another 1 ;D
Note: not sure if it fits on a 10 speed RD, since i think chain is different to 9 speed in terms of clearance
BongJ, Sir if you sell it to a roadie, pls ask him/ her what groupset he/ she uses. not sure if it fits and works well on a 10 speed RD.
Also, Thank so much Bait mo talga!

Thanks Arman for the review... My only concern for the compatibility issue is the thickness of the Jockey Wheels. But it's fit on your Road RD... I'm already using a 10 Speed chain but I did not see any problem for the clearance. Means that it will work well in the 10 speed groupset. [/quote]

If thats the case we can say its 10-9 speed compatible. But we need to do actual fiting so we have an assurance. Let me ask some of my road bike friends if they like to try it.

That's for your good suggestion Arman... Actual usage is the best compatibility test...
Asking your friend is a great support to enhance the usage of this RD to road bike... Thanks...

Only a cookies Daimler ... ;D Bongjumper's Jockey wheels is still "Made to Order" and very limited quantity... for those who order and did not finally get their orders, loss the opportunity to improve their RD and still did not experience the "Crisp" shifting...

Hi Dranrev, How's the performance of your RD... I have tried it yesterday. I installed it in my Shadow XT 08 long cage. It perfectly fit on the cage and does not wiggle. No issue encountered during shifting. I would say the gold color matches the color of my frame. Bling + Good Performance and I think it's far more durable than the stock JockX wheels of my XT. 2 thumbs up. Highly recommended. Btw my friend saw it and is now saving money and you may get a call from him soon .

Im having problems with my JockX wheels Will post reviews and pics soon. BTW, I used to have Carmichael pulleys before so I have a little bit of experience with alloy jockey wheels.

I have some questions about alloy pulleys, since the introduction of changers and the extensive use of aluminum in almost all of the bike parts we are using, how come The Big "S" still not using alloy in their pulleys?
Im sure they experimented but didnt use apply it. I dont know how they did it but they have been so good with the plastic (ABS?) pulleys and they lasts me like 7 years.
One of the best but not recognized part is the ceramic bushing they used with their pulleys. You see, they are ahead of the time and technology. The bushings doesnt heats up, doesnt change in shape or affected by the element. Til they were replaced with the sealed cartridge bearings.
As with the plastic pulley, I still feel this is the best material for it. That is one less metal to metal contact part and the constant movement of the chain over the range of gears shorten the lifespan of both the gears, chain and even the pulleys itself.
I dont know what all of the guys who used this and said they feel an improvement if not a significant smoothness with their shifting. Because the plastic pulleys actually is softer to which will only slides the chain and even mutes the sound. I will test it myself and come back to you later.
Please dont get me wrong, im not against this product but there are some issues that needs to be address and I myself bought 2 pairs to seew how good it is. Although the rubbing or metal to metal contact and the less than 7 years lifespan (estimated) of it, By that time we already bought or upgraded to another RD or pulleys.
I cant find my very old magazine with reviews and comments of the Carmichael pulleys, It should've been helpful and enlightening.

Thanks for sharing your views... In the R&D, choosing the right materials is also under evaluation. of course, Big "S" for sure, use alloy in the design phase. But it is not competative to release it to the market for the following reasons: high production cost, heavier, harder and stronger than plastic. In this case if they use alloy, It will be very hard for the company sales if they are manufacturing a very strong product that will last long years before they will sell again. So better to use plastic, easy to produce, cheaper and light weight, will be replaced in a short period of time... means profit to the company... For the metal issue, chain is made of steel which is harder than alloy. Same as plastic jockey pulleys, Alloy will also damage for a long period of usage. There is no kind of materials last long on this application. Ceramic bearing is only a advertisement strategy, since everyone is focus on this hot item. But the application of this ceramic bearing in the pulley doesn't help the improvement of the design. After a while of usage, the pulley also wiggle... This is based on my experience only... We will wait for your further review and usage... of course, there is no perfect design if there is no feedback from the users...

You're wlcome Bong, I know there is something that makes shifting with the JockX crispier and smoother but I need to ride it to see for myself. My guess is, the material of the pulley (alloy) is more direct being hard and no room for flexing or slipping, more like direct drive. Unlike with the plastic which in some way absorbs or sink. (parang bumabaon yung mga links sa pulley dahil malabot siya kaya merong micro delay) Translation= soft as a cushion. Maybe with low and mid end with bushings only and that flexes when shifted, this is evident. But with high end RD's with sealed bearings and pulleys directly mounted at the plate or cage like the XO. I'll try to find out.

Shimano have the patents "Centeron" for their design. This design is to allow a side to side movement of the pulley to compensate the imprecise index adjustment. But due to this side way movement of the jockeys... when the chain is tensioned during climbs and you want to change gears... the pulley just move sideways and just give you a irritating sound but did not change Cogs... ;D

That's the one,,,, Centeron.. It's on the tip of my tounge and cant seem to get the exact word. I may be too old na and cant seem to remember old terms and names or even products. or too lazy to search. I have had so many frustrations with the old centeron during the 7 and 8 speed days that made me shift to Grip shift before. But that is a totally different story from the JockX.
Im frustrated I cannot install it on my XO and Shadow. The color gave highlights to the boring and bland combination of black pulleys/black cage. The silver nmatched well with the bling silver of the XO, red with the shadow. Will post pics once I reach home. I even took out the bearings of the orig pulleys and swap/experiment with the new JockX.
