I just wished that SRAM would make a lower profiled RD. You'd have to dump the bike now and then and having to re-align the hangers now and then gets to be a pain the Aish! I see that the Shimano Shadows are tucked in a bit more making them less likely to catch up on a twig or get hit when the rear falls into a rut. I still prefer the SRAM though having the hanger torn off, bent 3 times etc. gets me thinking. Hope SRAM tries to adjust the profile of their RD bodies. I posted this on the other thread. The Shadow is really tucked in vs. the X.O. I still have a hard time picking which one is better though because they both do the job.

based on the above posted pictures, in case of a bad crash on the drive side, shimano will survive with minor scraches while sram would have a bad case of road rash at least.

Fully agree with your analysis angelobryant... My SRAM have so many scratches on that arms parts and it's really bad to look at. But using shimano, the scratches will be in your swing/arm or in your skewers... Which is better to scratch when you crash... RD, Swing arm or the skewers... it's your choice ...

I have both XO with X9 shifters on my AM and XTR (old) on my hardtail. I'll be getting a new XTR RD with XT triggers very soon though. Based on my experience, its really just a matter of personal preference. The XO shifts quicker in my opinion, with a very tactile feel. But initial set up of the shifters and FD is slightly finicky . Once set up right, they absolutely rock. RD was a cinch to dial in. The old XTRs I had were quite smooth and buttery. I loved that feel. It was easier to set up and could shift effortlessly throughout the entire gear range, without hiccups or rubbing. In the end, they both perform very very well. But, since its an unlimited budget, I'd go for the XO.
