Duration used: 1mo. Similar products used: Suntour Axon air fork 2005,been using for 2years. Suntour Axon air fork 2007,used for about 7mos. Rockshox Reba,Recon,Fox F100,Manitou Nixon,Marzocchi Atom 80 and Marathon xc. Strengths: At 4.01lbs. its lightweight in its class, REBOUND adjustment. very very cheap! P4,800 brandnew. Plush and stiff,no joke! Weakness: Stickers on the legs has some annoying bubbles.Aside from that,no problem with this fork. Comments: i love my 2 Axon forks,i sold my 7mos.old Axon. but i still have my 2year old Axon fork which my cousin still uses. from the time i put it on my bike and inflated the required psi,i never touched it since then. no air and oil leaks,very very very dependable and durable. the only thing thats keeping my axon from 5 star rating is that it doesnt have rebound adjustment. but now for 2008, they released Epicon,120mm.travel with all the features of Axon plus a rebound adjustment that really works. its travel fits my fs bike,its compression mates with my fox rp23. try closing your eyes then compress the fork. you wud mistaken it for a bomber, its stiff enuf when u turn the bar on an almost deadstop. at first i couldnt believe how perfect this cheap fork is. i have used different expensive fork brands before,but none surpasses the durability,value,dependability of my old Axon Fork.i believe that my new Epicon would be just the same. Rockshox dual air chambers leaked during a 24hr race,Bomber's TST adjustment became inaccurate afetrsometime,Fox's oil leaked on the oil seals.i never experienced any of these from my Axon even after using it once in a 24hour race and once in a marathon race and a couple of endurance races. After using the Epicon twice on the trail,i must say its way better than my Axon. the Epicon performs fairly on small bumps on low speed. but it performs best on medium to big bumps on a moderate and fast speed,it soaks everything it hits. It even has a lockout which u can adjust the sensitivity so u can sprint without bobbing too much but still allow some movement for small bumps. im not a sales rep for suntour,but i believe this fork would be the most under rated fork for this season. If u are looking for a 5inch fork and doesnt mind the brand,go for this fork. 5 stars for value, 5 stars for performance

energizer, tnx for the review
3pdf and energizer, Im turning green with envy.
knobbyist, it doesn't say in their website whether its 30 or 32 mm next time i'll measure it when i pass by that store.
antonio, it doesn't come in white, but it comes in black and silver though.
Actually, i really dunno where the white XCR's came from, it might be that there are too many old stocks of XCR's and the new ones are already coming out so it might be a marketing strategy to have it painted white, just a thought. Website do not mention of a white colored XCR.

It says in their website the epicon comes in 100mm, 120mm, 140mm. Is it adjustable or in different models? Thanks

how are the black stanchions doing? My black xcr's fades, leaving it with metallic looking lower stanchions.

a friend told me about this video in youtube... because of the speed i think the rider was using it to ride downhill which by the way is a mistake. i don't think this fork was meant for that but it does show how the epicon performs. ;D

@bacdafucup....
if you dont have much dough or dont want to spent much, this Suntour EPICON will serves your purpose very well considering its cheap price and great performance...i already baptised/abused this fork at Bataan Killer Loop during the downhill part of it and just eats up rocks and some minor jumping...

hey guys.. wanna solicit your opinions on this one. I'm very much interested to get the suntour epicon fork.. but i'm also interested with my friend's old (italy)marz bomber (oil/air damp) which is in pristine condish.. both forks are priced the same. Which would be the better choice?
TIA!

I bought the SF7-RLD 120mm travel. It soaks up big hits but poor on small bump sensitivity which is ok by me since the price is very reasonable. It's not that stiff, stanchions at 30mm still. I notice some flex during some rocky descents. Overall a good value for the money. Im just gonna use it for trail riding nman e. BTW, at 1.8kg, its a very good buy.

angelobryant... i don't have the caliper tools to measure the diameter of the stanchions but i have both the XCR(white version) and this Epicon and i easily noticed that the latter had larger stanchion tube than the XCR... you were right this Epicon is poor in small bump as compared to XCR but the more important is the suspension performance very well on large hits/bump w/c this Epicon has that advantage over the XCR and i find it stiffer, haven't noticed the flex on rocky descent... will post soon some pics we recently rode into, a very rocky and steap descents, i took some abused ride w/ this Epicon considering my S-frame is also made of carbon... check our pics here... pinoymtbiker.proboards7.com/index.cgi?board=trailgallery&action=display&n=1&thread=3952

so how does it performed, pls gave us some reviews regarding its life, kasi if it does fades to, im off buying some other fork.

Been to a week of hard riding on the trails and the stanchions haven't faded yet. no sign of wear on them not like my RST omega which faded within a weeks time.

fiona d' princess d' princess... ill give you my personal assesment on this fork, if you have budget constraint this is the best buy, bang for the buck fork and it will serves your purpose very well, but if you have lots of dough, there are better fork than this... it all depends on your riding preferences and style and most considerably your budget, as price per performance is in concern, the higher priced fork is not that practical unless you can unleash extra amount of cash on that... as far as to date, im very much impressed with this Epicon and even my previous XCR, just a trail riding and some semi-hardcore downhill, i am using carbon suspension frame so im hesitant to abused it, im not sure if it can take hard battering but for my Epicon im optimistic it will handle every beat and stroke i would take... if you are hesistant about the fading color of stanchion, well that is purely aesthetic, more importantly is the performance life of your fork... hope this could help and enlightened your insight, it boils down to your personal preferences and budget, good luck and please let us know which fork you choose in the future...tnx c",?
